I've always used acrylic paint, it does chip off after a while but it holds well and doesn't come off in the rain! It's a cheaper option to alcohol based paints

its just not meant for skin, so its not always a great option! but if it works, it works! i know lots of people who do it that way, its just super drying to your skin, and your neck skin ages faster than your face generally, so it can contribute to "premature aging". make sure you moisturize!

I recommend using alcohol activated paint pot because that stuff doesn't come off with water and it doesn't transfer on clothes

theyre good if you want it not to transfer! but a large concentration of alcohol based paint on your neck isnt entirely a good idea-- alcohol dries out your skin, and the skin on your neck is relatively thin, this can lead to your skin aging faster and losing the oils it needs!

Alcohol activated paints are a great choice if you're doing this once a year for a festival but if you do it every weekend it's gonna dry out your skin and irritate it.

Thank you for sharing this. I love the black neck look, and I've tried it once. but I appreciate seeing another person's interpretation. I didn't even think about the eyeshadow, that's brilliant! I'd probably use other colors too, red might look super nice.

My first time doing black neck I found a tube of black roll on and it was super easy and fast. This way does appear higher quality however.

what brush did you use to for your brows? i saw you used a silver paint brush or something in the ‘easy sickly 90’s goth makeup’ but i couldn’t see which one it was :( if you could say which specific brush it is that’d be so helpful 😭

i’m gonna assume it definitely comes off when you sweat considering snazaroo paint is water-activated. (a good rule of thumb is that if it’s activated with water, it can be removed with water) but you can probably put on some sort of strong setting powder or spray to help prevent that! i always did that (although for my face on special occasions where i’d wear face paint) and i don’t ever remember the paint looking drastically different so i’m going to assume it’ll stay on your neck with enough setting spray/powder. i hope this helps!!!

I am a middle age alternative guy and I don't understand the history of the neck painting ??? In the early 2000's it was all about aggrotech but I always prefer traditional Goth... Am I a old fart to think this is a thing because of the band Motionless in White ???

@@Aeternuss honestly i do it because i have to paint my neck anyway, sometimes i do it with my foundation and sometimes i paint it with whatever colour matches. i think people do it because it makes their stark, dramatic makeup pop a lot more when theres a "black background". i know a lot of people who do it to hide their chin//jawline as well. i just like how it looks! not sure of the origin, its been so many years since i first did it that i cant even remember who i first saw do it, but theres a pretty high chance it was cradle of filth-- thats who i was listening to a lot at the time. hope this helped!
