AWESOME video! Straight to the point, and the technique very well demonstrated. I'm just curious: why the plastic over the graft? And for how long should it stay there?

Hi mate I hope you are well. How long before you cut your scions for grafting Macadamia do you girdle the branch? It is good to see someone who obviously enjoys what they do, all the best.👍

Hi Jason, Nice to saw a Australian here. I just cut scion and graft, some time I cut and graft in next day. With this method we need graft soon as possible. I with this method I don't girdle the branch. But it need choose a suitable branch to get good result. This method can make high success graft. nearly 90-95% successful I learn so much about Macadamia in Australia.

@@ChilledCat hi again mate, it would be good to see you, what country are you in? Australia is a big place and Macadamia tree's aren't from my area, South Australia, they are from New South Wales and Queensland. They do grow alright here though and I have A16, A4 and a variety called Pinkalicious but all mine are cuttings not grafted, I've been trying to get some grafted but can't find a nursery that has them available unfortunately a lot of Macadamia nurseries only sell to Macadamia farmers which I'd love to be but I'm just a gardener who loves Macadamia tree's. I have some H2 seedlings that I'm growing to graft into, a nice Macadamia farmer sent me the H2 seed/nut in the post which was good of him. I'm waiting for a variety called Beaumont which will be available from the nursery soon. All the best and good to hear from you.👍

@@jasonscott7803 I don't realy a Macadamia expert, I just enjoy propagation some year ago. I graft thousands success macadamia in NG8 seeding. It very good for root stock too. Pinkalicious is a great for garden style, and Beaumont is small nuts and don't drop , but is a high productive. Choosing which varieties is need suitable weather you live. We can talk more, you can add my snapchat: avfarmer

If we use that technique to graft in the field on a root stock which lost the grafted wood, how long should we expect it to take before you can see a successful graft and remove the tape?
@ChilledCat3 жыл бұрын
this method sutable for small diameter root stock, you should wait 40-50 to see it grow and remove the tape.
