Why multiple rootstocks are important to fruit trees?
Roots absorb water and minerals from the soil that flows to the trunk, branches, and leaves that feed the tree. That's why roots are essential. Putting additional roots also adds additional nutrients and minerals to the recipient tree.
A tree with more than one rootstock is more resistant to disease, unaffected by drought, has better anchorage that can withstand strong wind during a monsoon, storm, or even typhoon. I called it a MULTIPLE ROOT SYSTEM that promotes early fruiting.

I’ve tried three times to graft persimmons with a graft from a friends tree that I really like the fruit from but no luck yet. Watching your video makes me think that I didn’t make it tight enough! Maybe I will have success next time. Thanks!

we use grafting to clone the variety of a mother plant it is called asexual propagation. In order to make a new variety of plant we need to cross pollinate two different varieties to produce a new variety it called sexual propagation.
