In this short video I show you how to grease wheel bearings on side by side using a wheel bearing greaser. I demonstrate how to do this simple maintenance that will greatly extend the life of your wheel bearings.
Parts available on Amazon:
Wheel Bearing Greaser - amzn.to/3ro3Vr0
LMX "Red" Wheel Bearing Grease - amzn.to/3tQCNTg
Grease Gun - amzn.to/3tRm2HB
Torque Wrench - amzn.to/2QuEvv6
Step 1 - Jack up machine
Step 2 - Remove wheel
Step 3 - Remove castle/axle nut and cotter pin
Step 4 - Remove brake caliper
Step 5 - Remove hub
Step 6 - Insert wheel bearing greaser and pump in grease
All done!
Reverse steps to reassemble!
Well I hope you found this video helpful on how to grease wheel bearings on side by side using a wheel bearing greaser. I demonstrated how this is done on my Polaris RZR 1000 but the steps are fairly similar between side by side machine like Can Am Mavericks etc.

Glad you enjoyed! I will have to check the size. Depends on the year and model of the machine your running. I would check your owners manual to be sure.

Heads up. Polaris does not recommend adding any grease to these bearings at all. They come sealed with grease in them and adding more grease can actually destroy or shorten their life like what happened to me. Too much grease is a bad thing. Advise, inspect at 5000 miles and replace if needed.

Cars run same type of bearings but they arent submerged in mud and water everyday..thats why ya absolutely have to grease those bearings.polaris wants you to buy new bearings..

Mine are not sealed….

That’s because Polaris would love for the bearings to fail so you have to buy new ones from them!

Yes there IS truth to this. In a perfect world, leave them alone. I have worked on so many of these it’s crazy. Yes, too much grease is a bad thing. You can actually cause a premature failure that way. But this is an excellent idea for these rigs. I work in industrial maintenance and we do vibration analysis and read with vibe pens and temp guns and you can see failures from not enough grease or too much grease. BUT, too much grease or the wrong grease is usually better than NO grease.

I have the same dresser tool from Amazon, suggestion, pump 3 pimps, then rotate tot tool to the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock position and repeat since it only had one grease hole on the tool.

@JMGENTERPRISES

Yes, I believe the 44mm works with the 900. Check out SuperATV's website as they have a 44mm greaser and it says it fits 900's.

There’s a cut out in the center of the inner bearing race. The little hole lines up with that cut out. The outer bearing race is one piece.

Is thats grease good for driving in water a lot?
@JMGENTERPRISES
@JMGENTERPRISES 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the grease I use is water repellent. Always good to pack your wheel bearings if you submerge your bearings underwater a lot.

You used too much grease. over grease the bearing it pops the seal and water wears them out quicker
