Some of the comments were describing, this does not work, I also faced similar problem. The thing is, you must upload another video with the green screen video for chroma key to work. If you only use single video and try chroma key, nothing will happen.

Totally working for me! I open shotcut and go back and forth doing exactly as he says. Also use an already recorded green screen video on top. So load your background first on V1 the add V2 and add your green screen video like he does. Thanks dude!

Hi Ray, Great tutorial. Looks very simple. I can apply the filter and select the key colour with the picker on the background, and unfortunately nothing happens. Sliding the distance slider also has no effect. This is the same for the simple or advanced keys. Can anyone suggest why nothing is happening? Is my graphics card to slow (running a laptop with build in intel HD graphics, 4-5 years old) Appreciate any assistance

Nice video tutorial, but I have a problem withe my video clip after dragging it tp the timeline, I put over a image so I could use green screen and when I play back the video it plays slowly, I don't know what I am doing wrong. I tried several times removing the video clip from the timeline and from the playlist, then bring it back and sometimes it plays fine on the player panel. Any ideas? Thanks.

well maybe not, but other software can be too laggy or complicated. Shotcut is simple and works like a charm when you get used to it. All my videos are used making shotcut.

Whats AWESOME about chroma key simple is that you can also change the color of what you want removed! Say you have an image you want to add to your video, but it has a white background. Just change the color to White and WALA! Just adjust accordingly!

This is an issue with shotcut's preview system, it'll look fine when it's rendered.

I cannot get my main video track to stay on top (Video Track 1). If I add a background, which is Video Track 2, it still is the dominant track, not the one of me. What upsets me is last week I actually did this. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it. I really don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I don't think you can drag and drop so that Video Track 1 (layer 1) is on the top of the timeline. I tried doing it. The Layers are unlocked. Help!!!
