AGREE about the names, ugh! We need to get to a consensus & take our own names if the derivation is dissimilar. I like calling this the Fo-Fitty grind (get it, x4 50s?!) but yeah I think 50-50 still applies IF it is a grind. Some skateboarders say it has to be grinding, the stall version is an Axle Stall, but many in roller skating still call the stall 50-50 which I think is a bit off. Just my humble opinion! Love the vids SO MUCH
@kaleighwright61793 жыл бұрын
I like 4x50 but I’ve also heard people trying to start “100”
@camillesonwheelz3 жыл бұрын
@@kaleighwright6179 I mean that is cute, but the name comes from having 1/2 your wheels on transition and 1/2 over coping, like 1/2 in half out... so the 100 thing doesn't really capture that. But to each their own!
@baertheblader94023 жыл бұрын
@@kaleighwright6179 it’s called a 50/50 grind in skateboarding because the board is half in, half out of the ramp. So 50/50 still works here, I think.
@starnight343 жыл бұрын
These are actually so helpful to just get used to terminology from a beginner standpoint even if I can’t do them yet, would you be ever consider doing a video on the ways to stop and/or transitions between front and back??
@baertheblader94023 жыл бұрын
I am a rollerblader, so part of me wants you to borrow our trick names, but since you don’t really have the concept of “top side”, it does seem more accurate to call these tricks “frontside” or “backside”. So a Soul grind is a frontside trick and a topsoul is a backside trick. On the other hand, A Mizou is a backside trick, and a Sweatstance (topside Mizou) is a frontside trick.

I already have urban blades and my gf is getting moxxi skates so I was considering getting the Jackson vibe vinyls but I also just love blades like ahhhg! I want them all! Why can't I just have infinite money XD

@LiL_Miss_Fiasco3 жыл бұрын
A few people I talk to call them X grinds because of blading, but most people I talk to call grinding on all 4 trucks 50-50's or "fiddies" since you're on trucks instead of a frame/soul plate. But 50-50's on a skateboard are just a 2-truck trick! Maybe we should call them 100-100's instead, or "hundreds" for short!

@estrojen87553 жыл бұрын
oh yikes. Wax makes sliding faster. After we learn to slide we get used to the coping and notice when the coping sticks. Wax can prevent sticking, any candle will do.
