How to reduce the shedding? Do you recommend to brush more how often, or shower how often?

That's a great question! As a groomer, I get this question a lot from my clients and the answer can be tricky. Just like every person's hair is different, it's the same with dogs! Even with my own clients, it takes a little bit of playing around to find the right routine and products to reduce shedding. My Papillons don't shed excessively and I work very hard to keep up with their coats, but for those who do, I usually recommend bathing once a month with an oatmeal shampoo and conditioner, as they're granulated and not too hard on their coats. A slicker brush once a week will also do wonders!

Do they shed a lot?

In my experience, a well-bred papillon should not shed excessively! Plus with a maintained weekly brush schedule you should experience minimal shedding from your papillon! That's not to say that they don't shed at all, as a groomer, I can easily say that all dogs shed to some extent, but well-bred papillons tend not to be heavy shedders.

Is he part phalene?

So papillons and phalenes are the same breed and can even be found in the same litter. Pippin was full papillon with both ears up until around age 1 when his right ear finally dropped completely. Oddly enough, the whole litter turned out that way! I think it gives him character and makes him unique. I don't think Pippin would be Pippin with both his ears up or down.

@@dogobsessed4853 ik that they can be born in the same litter it’s just sooo cute to see half and half my papillons ears are both up and my moms papillons ears are both down and they are from the same litter❤️
