I'm in Minneapolis and looking for erichoid mycorrhyzal fungi for my blueberry bed, in which I also grow lingonberries, wintergreen, and cranberries. I'm growing in a 4X12' raised bed on an Eastern slope. Soil was clay (looks like subsoil to me) so we filled the bed with peat and compost and manure with iron sulphate canto reduce the pH. We use rainwater instead of city water. Still, this bed isn't thriving. (Strawberries and Oriental garlic chives have volunteered. Lupins I planted are growing there and self-seeding.) Espoma doesn't carry erichoid fungi. Do you know where I can get it? Can it be shipped in any season? If not, should I just dig up samples at the local bog? Do I need to transplant a living plant which has these fungi?

Is there a best time of year for shipping mycorrhyzal fungi? It's 85°F here in early June!

I had the best tomato harvest ever this year. I amended with (added vermiculite, perlite to the soil and plant based compost, worm castings, mycorrhiza, rock dust), staked the tomato plants. I did not touch these tomato plants till harvest (Had 35+ tomatoes per plant) and had no blight, no splitting, no pests. I even let mother natures rain, water it. The other tomato plants I tended to and watered, had less than 12 tomatoes per plant (same soil and amendments) and some of the tomatoes on those plants split. Conclusion for me amending the soil is key and let mother nature take care of growing tomatoes. Zone 6b here.

Man! You are the best. My plants have grown SOOO much since finding your channel. I even created a KZbin channel shortly after stumbling upon your videos. Your charisma is that to be admired. It's amazing the kind of info that can be learned on KZbin and your channel is the prime example of that. Thank you.

While he was explaining the different types of mycorrhiza and how his product had 16 different types and they were made up of both kinds (ecto and endo) and emphasized one special type that he has in his brand, I grabbed my container to see if it included all of these and it did. Then towards the end of the video he reached behind him to show there hydroponic line of products called "Great White", I was taken back a little. This is the container that I had purchased over three years ago and have been using in my compost tea and plantings ever since I received it. I can attest first hand that this product "Great White" mycorrhiza, is worth the money. I still have about 2 oz. left and have used it dozens of times and I have been very pleased with the results. Thanks for the info and the video, thumbs up as always. God bless

What you say about food is right. My Italian grand parents lived during the 2 wwars, and they used to eat what they could, farming and fishing and sometime some chickens and eggs, but for the 80% were vegs and fruits. Definitely the mediterranean diet is by far the healthyest only leaving some fish sometime and 1 egg once in a while. Totally avoiding the other kind of meat, and cheeses.

someone gave me some corn seeds that were only a few years old but they had mold on them and smelled a little bit and were hard to sprout and not many germinated. after growing out a few plants and getting another crop of corn seeds I started to store my seeds in this mycorrhizal powder so the beneficial can hopefully out compete any pathogens that would ruin seeds while in storage also I have them in humidity controlled jars now.

I would give the part at 46:00 a second thought. In my opinion that definitely wasn't the case for the spores. The thing is that we have things like 2k+ year old grain from tombs still being viable because they just flew in there or "got volunteered" by the boots of some of the archeologists. That is even way easier with things as small as spores. But a cool video nontheless

Marigold is edible not only flowers but also tender leaves/shoots. We Khmers mostly eat it raw in dipping or wrapping forms. We eat anything and everything plant base that is edible. Vs American society, they tend to think that most everything that grow wild or unwanted is weed. One thing that bothers me the most is when one ethnic group ir culture belittles others on food and what they eat. I reminds my husband in the instance of a long period power outage... we Khmers will eat good healthy meals while him and his fellow Americans starving to death. I like foraging for, cultivating, and save the "backyard weed" from my landscape guys . I've saved Purslane and Lamb quarter. I'm hoping to find some land Bittercress and Groundsell. There were lots in Wa.

Can someone tell me if I spray essential oils on my plants and soil with it kill the good bacteria????? Please help!!!!
@TheRealCantaraBella5 жыл бұрын
If the oils are not diluted properly, it can coat the leaves, and lead to wilting and browning. Best bet is to make sure your oils are cold pressed and organic. A lot of oils can be processed with alchohols, so keep an eye out for that.

Only HALF of what this guy is saying is true. Please research what this guy is saying! If you have trees or shrubs then you WILL have mycorrhyzal fungi and a number of them. Do they go away between the seasons? NO. this guy is just trying to sell a product. It is true that mycorrhyzal fungi have a lot of benefits to plants. Will adding it improve your native soil? No. Will it improve new soil, maybe.
@ThahnG4133 жыл бұрын
I agree except I believe any soil that has organic matter other than peat moss should have plenty of fungi even for annual plants

In my opinion a master gardener is someone who knows everything about every vegetable, herb and fruit known to mankind. Furthermore, a master gardener should know by memory how to build optimal soil conditions for each and every edible plant, fruit and herb on this earth. I highly doubt anyone currently living fits this bill. #justsaying #inmyopinion
@FigaroHey6 жыл бұрын
Then by your logic, we need to delete the phrase from human vocabulary, which is foolish. We need words to describe 'mastery,' to distinguish it from amateurism, or a beginner, or a learner. Perfection' or 'omniscience' (the definition you offer) is not the same as 'mastery.' Someone who is a 'master' of something shows superior (not perfect) understanding and ability in a field. The person knows all he needs to know about his field in order to have a superior knowledge to most people in his field. Gaining 'mastery' over a craft is not the same as having God-like omniscience. Your definition could only apply to a Creator-God who made everything and is capable of keeping knowledge of all things in his conscious awareness at the same time. When a human being gains a level of mastery of a field such that he is consistently successful and able to teach other people to reach his level, that's a 'master.' Not the same as an all-knowing, all-mighty god.
