This was a very useful video. I had an African Violet that was infested with yellow thrips that were impossible to get rid of without harming the flower so propagation was the only option. Took three cuttings and now I have three new, thrips-free violets.

We have successfully grown violets from leaves. However when they flowered the flowers were white. The leaves were taken from dark purple violets?

I tried starting them in water and potting soil. Both times the leaves shrivel & turn black.
