We have two pots of Indian summer and four pots of different colour alstroemeira. We feed them with tomato food once a week during the summer and bring them into the glasshouse over winter.

@@nicholasryan5401 Hi Nicholas. Alstroemeria do make great containers of colour. I haven’t ever brought the plants indoors as I find the plants to be tough enough. Enjoy your gardening 🌸🌼

Can we grow it from seeds? If yes, can you guide please how to do it
@diyhomeandgardening4 күн бұрын
@@SayantaniMajee Hi. Many thanks for watching and for the message. Named varieties need to be propagated by division so that you get a true variety. Mixed varieties can be grown from seed, starting the seed in a heated propagator in moist compost. Hope this helps you. All the best with your growing 🪴🌼

Hi sir, Is these plants grow in tropical climates, where temperature range from 20°c to 30° Celsius ?

@@rahulsls Hi. Thanks for watching the video and messaging. I grow these plants in the U.K. where our summer temperatures are only that sort of range, maximum briefly close to 40degrees. I hope this helps you 🪴🌼

Grew alstroemeria first time after flowering the leaves looked as they had been eaten within a few days any advice please
@diyhomeandgardeningАй бұрын
@@peternicklin3961 Hi Peter. Many thanks for watching and for the message. Alstromeria are generally trouble free but slugs and snails do love the young leaves so I suspect that is what has caused damage to your young plant. Some birds will also have a nibble on the leaves but generally not many other pest issues. Just remove the stems that have finished flowering and enjoy the new flowers as they emerge, ignoring the slightly eaten leaves. Happy gardening 🪴🌼
