It is just amazing to me something so big can come from such a tiny seed!!!

I could listen to you all day Annette as you are teaching me a lot of things. I had no idea that there were so many varieties of Campanula. It took my creeping one a year or two to get going but it romps away now and I have to keep it in check. I also have a couple of tall varieties and they are such nice plants.

Thank you so much Wendy - that means a lot to me. I think the creeping Bellflowers are so useful.

I grow the Peach Leaf Bellflower(Campanula Persicifolia) in my zone 5b Canadian garden. They happily seed themselves around the garden. They are easy to dig up if you don't want them. Bonny

Hi Bonny, yes we have those over here too. Since they self seed so easily, I didn't bother trying to sow them. 😆

Fabulous video Annette. So enjoyed learning about all the campanula varieties. I've just sown the biennial Canterbury bell. They are single but I really wanted doubles but couldn't find seed anywhere. Also sowed Sweet William, wallflowers and honesty at the same time, plus my Autumn/winter veg- really busy month! Have a lovely week, looking forward to next week's video. Thank you :-) x

Thanks Be. I've yet to sow the rest of my biennials - must get cracking on that job!

Good to see your subscribers increasing. I planted these last year for the first time. Didn’t know they prefer the conditions you said. I planted them in full sun ( hot Australian sun) and they thrived. Maybe they were grown for our conditions?? 💐

Hi Carol, it's interesting to see how plants adapt to different environments. I've also found that mine do quite well in sun.

I have had campanula persicifolia blue and white in my garden for 50 years. I never sow them they sow themselves.
@cottoverdi5 ай бұрын
Yes, some Campanula really do self-seed very easily but I guess, if you don't have the plant already then the easiest way to start is with some seeds 😊

Could you tell me if Bell flowers are chicken resistant please? My young hosta's took a big hit this year and several are down to stubs since they are loved by my flock.
@cottoverdi5 ай бұрын
Ho Donna, sorry it's taken me so long to reply - I've been busy planting all the dahlias!!! I don't have chickens so I'm really not sure how chicken-resistant they are, sorry. Sounds like chickens will eat anything!!! 😬

Hey Anette, not that it is any of my business, but are you feeling ok? You seemed a little flat in this video? I hope you're OK ❤
@cottoverdi Жыл бұрын
Hi Natasha, yes, all good here - thanks for asking. I tried changing the format of my video - maybe the style doesn't suit me 🤣 but it's always good to give something a try...

@@cottoverdi I'm glad you're good 😀 that's the only thing that matters 😀 you never know maybe it does suit you and just takes a few goes? I have cup and saucer canterbury bells, hopefully this year will be their first flowering, we'll see how it goes 😀
