I know this is 4 years ago, but really enjoyed this series. I’m here in SD as well, and have had a ‘wild’ Dragonfruit in my yard for many years, but it never did anything until I started squirting it with the hose every so often. I did not realize that letting it grow up my Pepper Tree would eventually be the biggest mistake ever! I was mesmerized watching it grow. Needless to say, the weight of the Dragon Fruit eventually caused the tree to lose 2 big limbs in a storm, took out my stairs on my deck and one of the light posts, so then I had to cut out the Dragon Fruit from the rest of the tree, which damaged the tree so immensely it almost died. Erg! (Hard lesson learned). This past year, however, I tried again by taking ONE stem, propagating with a pole and it is ready to start pushing out blooms which should be in the next two months. I’ll go out today and prune to help it along, and hopefully have success like you have. Things I’ve learned: 1. Watching your first bloom is EXACTLY like you experienced - so amazing! Mother Nature does not disappoint with these blooms. I’ve got pictures of blooms as big as my head - crazy! 2. The arms/stems are very heavy - so be careful what you let it grow on. 3. If they grow up a tree, they attach themselves with roots that will wrap around the tree and become as thick as your thumb, and suffocate it! 4. If you let them grow up a tree - you can’t reach the fruit! (Another hard lesson learned) 5. Watching them bloom never gets old - and getting your first ripe fruit is so satisfying. Thanks for all the tips, Kevin…..it is certainly a learning experience! I will never stop trying….

This is my level of excitement when I stay at my friend's house and watch her cereus bloom at night. So beautiful. These remind me of huge Saguaro blossoms. Not knowing anything about Kevin's personal life, I say this in the most respectful way. THIS is the type of guy I keep looking for and failing to find IRL in my small town and or on Hinge because unfortunately I am located in a small town. There is zilch of my type around which is so frustrating watching this channel and seeing that this type of man does exist. I run my own small homestead and have what my town considers odd hobbies like mushroom foraging, and not one guy I've met wants anything to do with any of it :( I would love to find someone like Kevin to do stuff like this everyday together. I know this is just YT but he also seems genuine, sweet, caring, ambitious, will take the time to figure stuff out if he doesn't know how to do it offhand himself and intelligent. So, universe if you are listening, this right here is what I have been describing in my manifesting journal, so let's make this happen mmmmkay, thank you.

please make more flower pollination videos. Especially for non-edible plants like hydrangeas, bromeliads, pansies, spider orchids, anthuriums because they're hard to come by. It would help me out a lot (Freshman Bio major at Elon University and I'm ambitious to learn early)
