My neighbor trimmed his rubber plant because it was too high. After two weeks( (or even more), I picked up some to propagate. some were already dry and wrinkled and most leaves fell off. I observed there are dots in the stems even though it is wrinkled. It seems it is trying to root after it was chopped off. So hope it will root. I put some in water and some directly to the soil.

Hi, thanks for those wonderful videos. I am ficus lover, but I have tried to propagate this particular species and I have not succeeded. I have several questions regarding cuttings, since I have tried your method and although small roots start to emerge, they eventually get damaged. 1. Where do you place the cuttings in water, leave them outside, or put them inside your house? 2. After a couple of weeks, the water starts to smell bad, I have to change it, or I just leave it 3. There are some special times of the year in which they must be done, I am in a tropical country, and I think it does not matter much, since the tempareturas are more or less constant Thank you very much

When rooting any cuttings in water, always change water at least weekly. Filtered light, some humidity around them, so they dont dry out before roots form.

I wish I knew this. I have a small tricolor that I pop off the new growth when it's very small. Makes the plant grow side branches. When I cut a leaf off (but leave the stem part) a smaller leaf grows in its place. I expose the roots and chop some off and put it in a bonsai pot and created character.

What is the rooting stimulator mix? Do you let the cuttings callus first or does soaking them in the mix do that naturally? How did they not rot in the water? How often did you switch out the water? When you switched it out, did you clean the cup and the roots off as well? I can't get over these questions, and I can't find a video where these questions are answered 🫠😩 I have a Ficus Tineke that I got from Kroger that is just a rhizome, stem, and 4 or so leaves, sitting in water. It is getting to look so bad. Should I cut the rhizome off and try to let the stem root?

I Had Planted 3 Cuttings of Rubber Tree and also left two leaf on that cutted in half.. but after 1 week leaf are getting dried and falling.. I don't know whether they'll propogate or not please tell me what should I do..
