This is an EXCELLENT video, especially if you are learning how to collect the seed and plant it. I had no clue what gerbera seeds even looked like and was having a hard time finding out. Not many videos did a good job of showing what the seeds look like much less which ones are likely to germinate. Thanks for such a great video!

After my boyfriend passed away, I bought a gerber daisy plant and named it after him. I planted its seeds over a week ago and the first two already has two tiny tiny leaves. I'm so happy.

Although this is a fantastic video, I would have liked a follow up video to see how they germinated and how you separated multiple plants that germinated in the same square. This is the best video on gerbera daisy's, so thanks a bunch!

I fed my seedlings and they got bigger like you suggested but my main Daisy's are 8 year old and 2 out of 3 have died. My question now is what is the best kind of soil to grow the seedlings as they get bigger?
@carriesgardeningchannel8563 жыл бұрын
When I transplant my seedlings I use Miracle Gro potting mix. I am experimenting with beyondpeat professionals potting mix and that seems to be working well too, I found that on clearance this year.

@@carriesgardeningchannel856 Two of my 3 Daisy plants are still OK. I thought a 2nd was gone but it just came back to life...The third died a couple of years back and I'll replace it with a seedling. Thanks for the info.

I've started the Daisies from seed and they have started to grow for a couple of months now but remain small. Shouldn't they be bigger for transplanting?

That's why they are growing so slow. When my seedlings get their true leaves I start feeding them 1 time a week with miracle gro all purpose plant food 1/4 tsp to 1 gallons of water. You want to make sure your soil is moist before feeding them. I hope that helps you.
