🌼 Chaenomeles Japonica is a mildly spiny, deciduous shrub with spreading branches that hold small leaves and masses of orange to deep red flowers, followed by attractive yellow plum-sized aromatic fruits
🌼 These shrubs are native to Japan,China and Korea. The leaves are alternately arranged, simple and have a serrated margin. The flowers have five petals and the fruit is a pome with five carpels which ripen in late autumn.
🌼 The Japanese Quince is a very popular species for Bonsai but also for jam making, as the fruits can be juiced after boiling.

🍁Germination instructions
🔷Before germinate seeds we need to break the dormancy and increase the likelihood of germination with cold stratification.
🔷Soak the seeds in warm water for a 24bto 48 hour period
🔷Put the seeds in a dump paper towel, put them in a ziplock bag and put it in the fridge for a 8 weeks.

I've had a good germination of seeds last year, i have some good young plants now but don't know how to prune so to shape them? Do you pinch the tops so they'll branch out?

Yeah, they respond to pinching really well. If you're planning to make bonsai out of then I would recommend, first make basic movements and let them grow for a cople of years. After gaining some wood start to shape them whatever you like. they're branching out everywhere
