I had some great luck with these. Nearly all that I did scarify germinated. I had awesome success by cutting through the outer seed coat like you did, and letting sit in a wet paper towel in a sealed container until I saw some small root growth. Now I have 3 very healthy looking small trees. Thanks for sharing this video!

Thanks for the tips. I picked up a bunch of pods in the local cemetery and am going to try propagating them.

Yes. I picked some pods from the ground in Mt Greenwood Cemetery (Chicago) in the 80s. I planted several immediately and they grew probably withing a couple weeks.

Классное видео, спасибо! Кипяток кстати - хороший способ, но иногда с первого раза не получается разрушить оболочку. Рекомендую.

I held mine with forceps and scratched them with a utility knife. After this I soaked them in hot water over night. I've done this successfully with honey locust in the past. It is my first time with Kentucky coffee.

Hello there, i started growing some from seed and they have begun to sprout but i feel like my containers are to small. they're about 3-4 inches deep of soil but i'm not sure if thats enough and was thinking that i should transport them. i was just wondering what you think about this? Thank you ☺️

I am having great success with the seeds doing it your way scraping the outer part like the other people , I don't know what to do with them before spring cuz they're growing so fast , I have one other seed I planted outside in the soil just like it would be in nature I'm thinking that it over time the shell will rot away and grow naturally I think that's the problem we're trying to jump start the whole thing and get it going as fast as possible and we are in spot where it's going when it's not supposed to be growing it's winter

After several unsuccessful attempts, I finally got a seed to germinate in early September. It is now 4 inches high, growing in a bright sky lit room. My question is how do I over winter it?

Hot water method is very effective but takes several days and multiple water changes. Scratching them first also helps them absorb water. I usually boil water then place them on a heated vent so keep it warm for as long as possible.
