I chop one every morning and mix it with my cheesy omelette, I just love the slight burn you get when you drink the coffee with it, it's a very satisfying way to start my mornings.

YES!!! Just started this past spring growing tomatos and jalapenos specifically for salsa. Not the jarred junk they sell in the stores. If I can figure out how to plant garlic and onions over the next couple weeks I will get those in the ground soon too. Yum! Can't wait to be fully producing my own salsa. What's the best tomato to use in salsa? Will add it to my list for spring. This year I grew 4 tomatos.- Sweet100, a Small Fruited cherry, Better boy and Cherokee Purple. The latter 2 have not produced yet, every fruit is still green.

You dont have to do all this!! Just like people dont need to eat 5 star Michelin meals to survive (we could survive on just mcdonalds if it came down to it), your jalapeños can survive on just a pot! I would use a smaller pot/cup for the seeds, but keep it outside, keep it moist, and switch it to a bigger pot when it gets bigger. This is noce for his plants but is not necessary!
@alexanderpalmer60673 ай бұрын
@@PM-wt3ye you're an idiot. You can put half these seeds in some dirt in your yard and they'll grow. They didn't survive centuries in the wild by people with grow lights.

Do they grow well on self watering containers? Any tips how to deal with pest on leaves?
@lucasgrowsbestyt6 ай бұрын
Oh yeah, jalapeños and containers work well together. Depends, what kind of pests? You could try soapy water, sticky traps, and/or diatomaceous earth

Do jalapeño keep producing after you pick the or it’s a once a season kind of thing?

@aidange8863 Жыл бұрын
Do you pick off the flowers at all? Some peppers like to put out flowers before the plants are grown to the sizes you show, so is picking the flowers something you do? Or topping, pruning, or anything of the sort between the final pot and full maturity.
@lucasgrowsbestyt Жыл бұрын
I don’t do any of that and if you have healthy plants you shouldn’t need to :)

I grew a dozen or so last year, and those caterpillars go from tiny to 3-4" in only 2 days. I had a daily routine of looking for the green devils (tomato hornworms) and then smashing them with a brick. They ate the tops off of two plants before I realized I had any issue at all. I wonder if the jalapenos would grow under mosquito netting or does a bee have to come along to pollinate them. I also left some on to turn red to harvest those seeds for planting this year. One morning they were all gone--RATS literally stole them off and a month later I found the residue and seed pods under a wooden cabinet. I was able to retrieve some of them and will be planting them shortly here in Feb 2024.
