The hydrangeas are beautiful this is my first year growing them the pots I have them in is 18 inch and they are the bloomstruck,macrophylla shrub,endless summer

That’s a great point on the too much shade issue, I had 5 hydrangeas under a tree and very small or no blooms, I just transplanted 3, so I’m very hopeful this spring.

Great info but my endless summer macro bloomed more than it has ever bloomed this year in 5b so the cold snap did not bother mine and they were never covered or anything but are both close to the house on east side so your guess is as good as mine...TFS

Love the vid guys! I especially love seeing you two as a couple sharing a common interest-gardening 😍💕. Thank you for the chat & sharing gems with us. One question how often do you fertilize your macrophyllas? I read every 2 weeks? Is that too much, I’m in zone 9b-10, So Cal. Thanks again. Joya 🙋🏽♀️

Hello!!! 💚 Thank you for watching. Macrophylla gets fertilized in the beginning of spring. If you have a reblooming macrophylla mid summer they can get fertilized once more. 💚

Hi both, does it matter if you put two different plants together? That is what I have done. I have pink and white in the same pot and I have two pots. One pot is six years old but I can't divide them unless I break the beautiful pot. Lenna Uk xxx

Hello guys love yre video and it’s my first time watching. I’m obsessed with hydrangea when is the best time to transfer from my store bought pot to my personal container thanks

Hello! Thank you for watching! 😃 Best time to plant hydrangeas is in fall and spring. If it gets too hot to plant them I usually leave them in their nursery container and slip them into decorative containers till I can plant them. It is hot here already (live in TX now) but I do have two panicle hydrangeas I’m planting soon. I plant in hot days early morning or evenings when temperatures are cooler give Biotone to help the roots and water well. Hope this helps. I’ll have a video up soon. 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚

How did the blue jangles do with reblooming?
@GardenObsessions2 жыл бұрын
It did well, it mostly just kept blooms going until fall rather than completely lose blooms and wait for more. It was continuous.

Ok…. I’m probably asking this for the third time,😂but….. when you say pruning are you talking about taking the flowers off OR shaping the limbs??? I DON’T want to shape up my hydrangeas. I only have five of them and I like the way they’re growing. Soooooo WHEN do I cut away the spent blooms and does it stop/hurt the plant IF I do it at certain times?? I’m confused. I’m just getting into them but all you experts are confusing me with the pruning aspect. Signed, About to give up 😂😂😂😂

Hello! Spend blooms can be cut at any time. Just look for the first set of buds and cut above. Hope this is helpful 💚
@darlenehickman2203 жыл бұрын
@@GardenObsessions sooooooo if I wanted to make a cut flower arrangement I can just go down the stem and cut above a bud???😊
@GardenObsessions3 жыл бұрын
Yes go down to first set of nodes and cut above sorry about calling them buds correct way is nodes. Also if it’s a hydrangea that grows on old wood like a macrophylla be careful how far you cut back because you will loose next years blooms. On paniculata varieties there is no worry you can cut back as far as you want.
