I have planted seeds for Morning Glory in heavenly blue and they’ve all germinated and are around two inches tall already! I’m so pleased. I grew mine in a greenhouse and I have lots of different plants growing and I’m loving seeing them germinate. I am in UK and we have had a cold spell so I am worried as to when to put in the pots outside though lol x

Great instructions! My only issue was once I got leafage they would get eaten by snails I discovered. I solved this issue by placing my pots in an elevated area where the snails couldn’t reach until the morning glories were bigger and stronger before planting in final location.

I just planted it in my gardens a year back at corners it grew and climbed on the compound so perfect it didn't needed a pinch of fertilizer it grows tons of flowers. I also planted a seedling near a street light and it totally covered the whole pole

I love to grow morning glories with their beautiful cousins,moonflowers. They are very fragrant and they bloom at night! I will always grow both types now. So easy and beautiful ; )

@Ivy Mossgarden My only secret with Moonflowers is soaking the seeds in water overnight before I direct sow along fences or in planting beds,they make for a beautiful groundcover.This will be my second year growing them,I hooe they will bloom again this year.They started blooming late in the season,and well into November here in California. What's your secret with 4o'clocks? I love them but have no luck with them! Hope that helps ; ) Oh and the Moonflower seedlings I transplanted all died... Direct-sowing and soaking seeds,that's all I got!

@Ivy Mossgarden Also,I have only been able to grow the Moonflower seeds from Wal-Mart,the .20 cent packages. The cheapest seeds I have ever found,and 100% germination rate! Light blue cheap seed packets from Wal-Mart.Ferry Morse and other online,expensive seeds never germinated. Same this year!

This year was my first time planting them and they sprouted out of the ground in a weeks time. Months later i was thinking they wouldn't bloom but now they are blooming like crazy. By the way if you ever grow morning glories these flowers only bloom very early when the sun come out and dies within a few hours. If the weather gets cold all the sudden, the dying process will get slowed. Lately ive been testing to see how i could somehow 'stop' these flowers from dying by plucking it off and testing methods on the flower.

Quick question: I heard morning glory seedlings were difficult to transplant. Has this been an issue for you? Kinda late to plant directly now.

They can be easily transplanted within first 30 days ...make sure you remove the plants with the root ball intact ...after transplantation keep them in shade for 2 days to avoid transplant shock

FYI: Fortunately, morning glory flowers are not dangerous, BUT the seeds can be poisonous, especially in large quantities. They contain a chemical similar to LSD. Symptoms can range widely, from diarrhea to hallucinations. Just take extra caution to keep seeds out of reach from children & pets.
