Just did the break n shake on one bag today. The other bag is growing slower, but very healthy looking. I think I got more spore material in the first bag just due to the way the spores were suspended in the syringe liquid. All good though.

@@Krystalbeing444 There are several online retailers for Liquid Culture. Google it. Liquid Culture is not necessarily "better". Reportedly it's easier to use for beginners. You are going to have to learn a lot of patience with mushroom growing. Might easily be 3 months from initial innoculation to harvest.

I'd do a few bags to be safe don't forget the mushrooms lose about 90% of its weight when fully dried, that flush will probably be good for 2-3 folks. Definitely a must try for beginners this is like a full dumb proof way to fruit mushrooms as long as the environment is proper 70°f-75°f & dnt contaminate it when opening to mist.... you can't fail with this jus be sure to get good "sterile" spore samples.

Just so you know guys, as great as these kits are for starting( and trust me they truly are GREAT) you can buy and make your own grow medium. Steralize everything, you can inaugulate your own cakes if you decide to chamber grow, or buy your own bags, fill, vaccume seall, inaculate then seal with tape. Every grow take the caps off, set them on a white piece of paper tl get your spore print and use those spores to fill a 5 to 10cc syringe with a U lock needle on the end, hold it upside down, and very slowly sqeeze the air out, suck up sterile saline solutikn, re cap and put in the fridge. Youd be suprised how many viable spores you can get from a single grow (enough to get 10 bags on the go after your first grow) ... the main issue is keeping evergthing sterile. A pressure cooker, gloves and alcohol wipes are gonna be your best friend. Theres guides online, study them... but theese get VERY expensive for the dry yeild. I'll catch hate for this comment but I've picked and grown mushrooms since I was 14. Order P.Cubanis as theure super easy.. I prefer liberty caps but they take up a huge auqarium as theyre super small. But I live in canada and one time of year I grow massive amounts outdoors on a perfect area I took care of and own. I throw extra spores out in the area even though they bloom there regardless. Theres a golf course close to where I live that every fall we'd go pick BAGS and BAGS of liberty caps every year. Like pounds and pounds upon drying. We'd save the spores and throw them places. Some took great, others didn't. PLEASE never go pick mushrooms. A lot of people die thinking just because they did some research on shroomery they know what they're picking. There's copy cats that can shut your organs down. That's where creating spore prints comes into play. Spores only fall a certain way for each strain so it's a way to identify. Also, if you don't grow them properly you can find yourself in for a world of hurt. Educate yourself on everything. Don't contaminate and trust me when I say shrooms helped me with a LOT of issues. I have a massive tolerance, but start small and go from there. You're probably not going to see anything insane, it makes things much more vivid, they're euphoric and I find them to be empathetic. The world breaths, you notice morez very introspective and can give you the courage to confront things (ptsd related for me) that I normally wouldn't. I used to microdose 4 times daily but now use them once or twice a week. I have an insane amount built up so I'm done growing. I still pick every year. I'm suprised they're not 100% legal as I get paranoid on 1/4 of q joint yet can eat 10 grams of mushies and you wouldn't notice (DON'T take what I can take) that's 20 years plus of taking them. Lol

Two things I noticed that are different than the instructions I got with two bags. One is rather than 2 to 3 weeks after it's mixed up, the instructions say 3 to 6 weeks after mixing. And there are rubber bands to put around the bag an inch below the soil top line to keep the growth from creeping down the sides. Also to wash your hands thoroughly or wear gloves when handling the bag to mix it up to avoid an contamination. But thankyou for the video. It was helpful to get confidence that I was understanding this correctly.

Yes, our bags our designed to be able to harvest (fruit) in the bag. Fruiting them in the bag is a great option and limits chances of contamination. You will get a bit more yield transferring to a monotub but most customers find the ease of keeping them in the bag to be well worth it.

My god my first experience on 2.5g was spiritual fr. I didn't panic nor had a bad trip, but I couldn't stop laughing (although I could control myself) I fucking hugged a tree and saw the soul of the sea 😭😭 seeing my own face was actually not terrifying and I didn't saw breathing faces, however everything around me had numbers, shapes, and patterns.. it was so beautiful. My mood changed I don't feel like smoking weed ak that much since I actually feel like I've healed. I feel the need to do something with my life (which is weird cause I have adhd) finally, I'm about to get a second job and finally get my drivers id.. everything is lit positivity now ^^ the best way I can describe the trip was literally resurrection ngl. Died and came back like a Phoenix (not literally but it literally felt like my soul bloomed) felt Hella emphatic and started hugging trees and to felt the floor. Def a wonderful experience

I got 6 bags in the mail and inoculated them with liquid culture. All of the bags have already shown mycelium growth after only 4 days. The temp is at 77° with 88% humidity on average. They are in the dark.

Overnight, I raised the temperature and lowered the humidity to dry the bags out a bit. The mycelium are beautiful and are reaching the bottom of the injection port. They are receiving fresh air intake. I have lowered the temperature 3° and the humidity in the myco room is currently the same as the room temp. At night I always play a plant growth frequency on the Bluetooth and most importantly I tell them how much they are loved.

The mycellium have continued to thrive in all 6 bags. I've kept the condensation in the bags under control while ensuring they get humidity, air, and proper temperature. Today, I mixed the bags, talking to them during the process. The area was completely sterile during mixing. I turned off all fans and wore a mask and gloves. I mixed the bags one at a time so that I could resterilize the space each time. 🍄💖

This is noteworthy to mention. I reduced the humidity about 5 days ago from 90% to 75% outside the bags (8 hours, approximately). About 12 hours after increasing the humidity back to 90% the mycellium exploded. I can't conclude that the change produced the effects because I started talking to them the day before. It was an observation that would merit further investigation during other grows.❤

Make sure the bags are in a room with decent higher humidity, they should have air flow (not stuffed in a box under the bed, my mistake). hopefully you did a great job of sterilizing everything, esp the bag and needle. my latest round of magic bags is much better than last time!! every bag showing activity within 2 weeks (using isolate).

I start off with the bags and then transfer them over to a tub after I think they're ready. Given the opportunity mushrooms will sprout from the sides and bottom as well.

Yeah, "side-pinning" they call that. A tub is a sure way to avoid that but we've recently started including a rubberband with each bag. We have the customers place it around the top of the substrate block when it's about to start sprouting mushrooms and it makes sure the mushrooms grow upwards, preventing side-pinning. 🙂

I've grown 'shrooms twice before. Once in the late 70's using the McKenna brothers book and then once in the mid 80's using the REVISED McKenna brothers book. This is waaaaaaayyyyyy better. We used to recommend waiting until half of the entire bag was covered before breaking up the mycelium, but we now recommend only 30% of the GRAIN layer being covered, which is what the video shows. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Just so you know man this vid won’t help you much. This is the most extremely extremely basic version of the process. It doesn’t really explain it well enough that you’ll get fruits unless you get pretty lucky. There are a whole plethora of factors that go in to fruiting mushrooms and it takes a lot more understanding than this video provides.

@@micahcary9024 yea I’ve learned that eventually. A lot of these people on KZbin don’t actually tell you how much work you need to put to dial in your tubs. They make it sound like it’s as easy as doing whatever they show in their videos and that’s it. Which is absolutely ok I like this stuff I’ve become very interested in this over the past few months and since I’ve been having some trouble with some things it’s only peeked my interest in learning more. I believe these people on KZbin solely only make it sound easy either to get new people into the hobby or just for sales of their product.

Certain parts of your home could be a better grow area like some rooms in my home. I never understood why truly though I have a feeling it may the room not getting enough fresh air and ventilation. Anyways since I first posted this a year ago I’ve become great at growing my mushrooms and have started expanding to different types of mushrooms like lions mane. Lions mane is definitely a lot more tricky though in terms of knowing how much to mist and fan. I always get a great frost flush but then my 2nd and 3rd for some reason just doesn’t spruce out like the 1st harvest. My 2nd harvest always grows in very small tiny patches at a time. My first flush is always one giant bunch with very healthy looking mushrooms. If you have any experience growing lions mane I’d love to hear some advice/suggestions

Anything more than 5 is just kinda wasteful and might add too much moisture and encourage contamination. If you have 10ccs imo it's best to just split it between 2 bags.

You're good to go ahead and cut the top of the bag open! Keep it in indirect sunlight and mist with a few sprays of clean water every other day or so and that baby will start to produce some mushies within a few weeks. Let us know if any other questions come up. :)

Once the block starts to bear fruit it seems the risk of infection declines or at least sterile technique seems diminished. If so, how much contamination risk is there at that point ie. fruiting?

Yep. You nailed it. The risk of contamination goes down once the bag is fruiting. The most vulnerable point for contamination is before the mycelium has fully established itself on the substrate and spread throughout the bag. Think of it kinda like a contest-there's a bunch of different microbes that are competing for the food (the substrate). Once the mycelium "wins" against the other ones and covers the bag, it's fortified against any other microbe competitors and can better fend off other microbes.

Dry them in a food dehydrator. Eating them raw is fine but for micro dosing it may be worth grinding them up in a coffee grinder then making chocolate with them. Melt the chocolate and mix in the powder and pour into a mold. It's easy to measure the doses that way and tastes a lot better.

After 16 days one of my two bags seems ready and the other is not. It's on a 75 degree heat pad. One side of pad seems warmer so I just rotated and will wait some more time. Room is cold aside from the heat pad, maybe 80 degrees is more ideal for my situation.

Heating pads can dry out the bag and prevent growth by sucking the moisture out. You'd need a space heater or maybe cookie racks between the heating mat and the bag. I was warned off heating mats immediately from a friend who does this professionally, and they dry out all the inherent humidity that's supposed to be in there for the myc to grow

I can't get passed the cutting open the bag and clipping half of the top part. I've done this twice now with almost a fully white bag of mycelium, which is after mixing it with the soil. If the needle comes pre packaged it's already sterile. But its a good idea to flame sterilize it and squirt a few drops before use. Either way spore syringes to bags isn't the best way to go. Very high rate of contamination. Check out philly golden teachers videos if you want to learn some better methods.

Hi Philip. There are heating pads you can buy which can help. That said, it's fine if your house dips in temperature a bit during the night, but growth will probably be much slower, so be patient (may take 2 to 3 times longer).

on amazon there are seedling heating mats with temperature probes set the desired temp around 24C but make sure the mat is not physically touching spawn bags, just near it so it heats the surrounding air

I just have a temperature /humidity sensor for acoustic guitars in the closet in front of my bags to monitor the temp, and then a ceramic space heater with a built in thermostat in there that shuts off the heat and then the fan 60 seconds later after it gets to 74f is what I set it at. I have 6 bags going that were inoculated at different times, I just put my first bag in fruiting conditions in a seperate room earlier today and have my fingers crossed cuz the mycelium looks strong and it smells fine but it did look like there was one small greenish looking spot. Was hard to tell for sure, but I'm hoping the mycelium is just strong enough that it won't really matter if it does happen to be some contam/mold or whatever. That's also why I'm doing 6 bags this time instead of the single bag I tried last year. But I've also read up a lot more about everything since then.

Hey there! Yes, that is fine. You can inoculate a Magic Bag with anywhere between 2cc-10cc. We recommend 5cc. You can use 10cc in one bag, just make sure to turn the bag on every side after inoculating to get the liquid moving throughout.
