I bought a Papaya last season. It was the last one they had and wasn't doing well. I watched this video and pruned at 90 degrees, every leaf, and it has caused my plant to thrive. I noticed it shot a second shoot, but I topped it and let it focus on one main shoot and it grew 7 inches in about a month and a half! I have flowers now. I'm excited, fingers crossed.

Thanks for this informative video. I certainly learned something new. For me, I didn't have to pinch off some flowers because mice got to them and ate them :(. When I suspected that the mice were climbing up and eating the lower flowers, I wrapped the tree trunk with bird net so they can't climbed up. It worked and I finally have some fruits and waiting for them to get ripened. I wished I found your video sooner so I could have prevented the tree to grow too tall. It is now over 12 feet high.

Hi I enjoy your video can I ask a question if my papaya grow too tall can I chop the top part away
@torchestogether24554 жыл бұрын
Ya, you can. if you want to keep it in containers, chop it off every 5 inches or so about an inch from the top. This slows the height and thickens the trunk, and is "pruning" the tree.
@Tushar-tp4gf4 жыл бұрын
Good informative video. But the title is misleading. You have not done anything to keep papaya plants short. So change the title.

Hello, I have a few papaya plants which I have germinated and want to try your method to keep them small. They are about 10cm and I will plant them out soon. Would you please tell me how soon I should start plucking the leaves off. My location is northern Việt Nam. Thank you.
