you should detail the process in the description. Such as how long you had the seed in the freezer and when you know it is time to move it to the fridge, pot, ground, etc.

That's fantastic! I can't wait to be in a place where I can grow peaches. Along with tomatoes, peaches are one of the main things I love that you just can't get a good one from the store- ANY store! My grandfather grew peaches since he was young and by the time I came along he had a well established mini-orchard on his property with carefully selected varieties not only with the characteristics he preferred and compatibility with the climate, but also so that he had fruit ripening from the various trees over quite a long period... It was wonderful! There's nothing like a good peach!!! Make sure you prepare & amend the soil properly, and carefully consider where exactly to put them since they are very susceptible to late frosts, etc. My grandpa ran into those issues at various points and sometimes had to learn some hard lessons. Best wishes & luck!!!

I’ve currently got a similar method going with nectarine and peach seeds. I read up that you can put the seeds into slightly dampened potting mix, in a jar, in the fridge. I made my own potting mix from course sand, very old compost, and worm castings at a 1:1:1 ratio.

You actually don't have to freeze them. If you do it right you can get the to sprout in just a few days. Just take them out of the hard casing and put in damp paper towel and in a closed plastic container with clear lid. And sit it on a table top. The seed will root and you can plant them from there.

No problem, I talked to my dad and he had them in the freezer for 2 years! I am willing to bet just a few weeks would be good. We started with about 30 seeds and ended up (after a chipmunk snagged a bunch of fresh plants) about 10 trees. They can go in the freezer in a bag. 24 hours is not long enough, what you are doing is called stratification, if the seeds do not get somewhere near 400 chill hours they will not germinate. This is a tree that has to have cold temperatures to germinate and produce fruit. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stratification_(seeds) read that to get an understanding of what the chilling is for.

can peavh grow in Philippines?
@KentuckyHomesteadFarm8 жыл бұрын
maybe?
@cliftt7 жыл бұрын
Why it can’t be grown there:Although their skins are the color of a glorious summer sunset, growing peaches entails a chilling requirement, which is a minimum period of exposure to wintry weather. Without this crucial seasonal cue, the peach tree will not flower, and thus will not bear fruit. www.pepper.ph/fruits-veggies-cant-grow-philippines/
@cliftt7 жыл бұрын
Best Answer: You can grow a peach tree in the Philippines but I think for it to bear fruit you need a degree of cold weather not available here. Peaches grown in Georgia are most prolific in a narrow zone where it gets a winter chill and avoids a late frost. A chill is required for the tree to bear fruit. answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071019051739AAEITSK

@@ddintn191 just put them in the freezer as is tomorrow. Next spring put them in a moist paper towel and plastic bag in the fridge until they sprout.

You have answered a question i have had long enough I forgot about it lol. Oh 10 yrs ago I dropped some peach pits in the ground to see what would happen.... umm Nothing. We have since moved on but the question has lingered off and on. So thanks for that bro! Love your videos. Peace
