My notes from this vids: Grow Petunia from Seeds 1. Prepare a medium. 70% organic compost, 30% fine/river sand. Mix together. 2. Fill the pot with potting mix. 3. Moisten the mixture with water sprayed. Do not direct from pipe. 4. Spread the seeds fairly to the medium. Do not cover the seeds with any layer of soil to allow germination process from sunlight. 5. Cover the pot with wrap film and place it under shade. Do not place under direct sunlight at this stage until it starting to sprout. 6. Seeds start to germinate after 5-6 days. 7. Open up a little space of wrap to allow air circulation when the seeds start to sprout. 8. After 13 days, the seedling will grow forming green view in the pot. Do not remove the wrap film yet. 9. At days 25, add 1 tablespoon of fungicide power into 1 litre of water and watering the pot to avoid fungus/rot. 10. Monitor the pot every day and watering if the soil start to dries. 11. Move the plant when it has 4-5 leaves to individual pot. 12. Prepare a medium for this stage. 50% garden soil, 30% organic compost, 20% fine/river sand. Mix together. 13. Fill the pot with the potting mix. 14. Add a little amount of fungicide powder to the potting mix to prevent fungus/rot. 15. Add the transplant seedling to the pot and keep a distance between plant and the pot around 15cm for watering process. 16. Compact the soil lightly and watering the pot. 17. Place the pot in the shade sunlight for 2-3 days to recover from transplant process due to shock. 18. On the 3rd days, move the pot to direct sunlight at least 5-6 hours. 19. At this point, remove any flower buds/shoots. This to enhance the blooming after. 20. Also remove any stems(pucuk) so the plant will grow other shoots for new bloom. 21. After 8 days, a new stems will grow between leaves. 22. Add fertilizer after every 18-20 days for constant and healthy growth. 23. At days 18, the flower will start bloom. 24. Allow the soil to dry out and water thoroughly. And watering on the soil not direct plant. This step is explanation is #15 on the distance between pot and plant. 25. To maintain constant blooming, remove any faded bloom down the stems to the next of leaves.

tomatoes need cold climate to give high yield ...n one more thing plant them as deep as possible ...as Burying your tomatoes plants deep into the soil helps them grow better because they form roots all along any buried portion of the stem.....remove first batch of flowers from the plants ..first let the plant develop a strong base n structure than it will produce more ...in between give them a gentle shake as it will help in pollination

I would really love to see how you went from that bowl of hundreds of little 1 inch seedlings to those 2 larger plants you were transplanting by digging up the root balls. Did all those little seedlings in the bowl only result in 2 plants? How did you seperate them from the bowl into the other pots.

@@fwoop4848 Yeah because right now I have hundreds of small 1/4" petunia seedlings sprouts in small pots or peat pods. I am wondering if I can somehow split them apart or just thin them out so some can grow. I was hoping to see how he went from his bowl to the two larger plants he transplanted.

@@insomniac2474 I'm wondering what has happened to your seedlings in the 2 weeks since u left comment? I vacillate between sowing seeds more sporadically or massive grouping such as this.
@insomniac24742 жыл бұрын
@@emeraldwaters7289 Funny you should ask because I was working on it just a few minutes ago. What I have been doing this week is seperating the peat pods into about 6 pieces and planting them into small 3x5" nursery pots to give them some space. I experimented with some about 3-4 days ago and they are doing quite well now that they have some space. I am doing the last batch now. I think once they start growing taller in the small pots I will thin them out before taking them out in May and planting them in our garden, planters and baskets. Right now I have 4 trays of them. This is the first time we have collected the seeds and try to plant them ourselves. Interesting experience. Next year I am going to avoid using peat pods and sprinkle the seeds more sparingly directly into small nursery pots. That way I can skip this step and just thin them out after they grow.
@emeraldwaters72892 жыл бұрын
@@insomniac2474 Lol - it's partly synchronicities at work 🤷♀️ believe it or not I just found some old "peat pots" and their mini plastic greenhouse half used from yrs ago. I've been "eyeing" it to possibly try and refresh soil - whether I repurpose for seeds starter or add them to compost pile. Last yr I figured out I could try to replant/transplant "thinned out" starter seeds - some starters are pretty determined and keep right on going. Items such as dill - apparently not so much...

Don't know if this helps but I sow mine in those little soil pucks that you add water to inflate. Then when the little seedlings (about 50 seeds a puck) have all come up, I just cut the puck open and carefully divide into clumps of about 5x10 seedlings and repot to 5 individual pots. You then let those grow for a while and snip away the least vivacious as they grow, leaving 1 strong one per pot. I've got 50 here at the moment, all ready to go onto the terrace in about 2 weeks :) Of course I made waaaaay to many so I'll give them to neighbours and such and keep about 25 for me.
