For people who don’t know when you buy a pineapple at the store you can check the bottom few leaves and pull them off and or look between them to see if there’s roots those are the best ones to start and also you can just twist the top to take it off a lot of websites say to cut off the top but then you’re left with that fruit stuck to it and it’s annoying- you can just twist it it’s much easier!

My daughter bought me a pineapple plant about 2 years ago with the fruit. I am so-oooo enjoying it. I finally cut the fruit off, removed the top, and the mother and top are doing well. I grew the top in water. But when I finally planted it, it started turning yellow/brown. Gave it to my neighbor in hopes she can save it.(She's better with plants than I am) About 2 months ago I discovered baby on my mother plant! It's growing strong and rather fast. I'm a home pineapple grower and pretty impressed by your can't help but it Call It Puppy, so small so cute and so flipping enthusiastic about propagation. The lean is because it's top-heavy. 😁 And those leaves with small teeth that lacerate and hypodermic sharp needle points demand respect. It'll be really interesting to see what comes of your experiments. I hope it's not rude to call it that. I've been growing pineapples for 20 years and something new always comes along and I experiment. Last year's Harvest was something I've never seen the like of. A baker's dozen shoots Fanning out around the bottom of the fruit. 😆

@theredrover32173 жыл бұрын
@@FknNefFy Typically a pineapple fruits in two to three years. Climate or environment I believe to be the most important factor in my success along with a whole lot of plants. Although it would appear also the individual characteristic of each plant. I get some that never do very well or eventually bear inconsequential fruit planted amongst those that become gigantic monsters with 10 to 12 pound fruits. As for climate and environment all I can suggest is to duplicate my yard in Hawaii where year-round they receive long hours of full sun with relative 75% humidity and temperature around 85 degrees. I don't say that to boast, in fact considering it ideal for pineapple sounds like I'm cheating. 😁

Hello, there! This is the first video I have seen from you, but I tried to do some digging. I don't know much about gardening, though I've seen from some gardeners that they use wide necked containers (maybe for air flow?) I also saw one say that pinnapples like sandy soil because they are a lot like succulents in that they hold water well. My best suggestion would be to take the one with thinner roots and put it in the same type of plastic cup to see how it takes. Wish you the best with your pineapple growing!

I am so happy that you did a pineapple video. I bought a pineapple plant from a tree nursery two years ago and had no knowledge of pineapple plants. What I have learned so far is that pineapple plants can burn in the sun if you don't harden them first. I live in zone 6 and bring my plant indoors for winter. Last summer I put my plant in direct sun too soon and it burnt. With a lot of TLC 😉, I did bring it back and it is looking good. So why do the tops take so long? Also, would it help it root if we trim off some of the leaves on the bottom? Kind of like from watching you propogate herbs, removing larger bottom leaves reduces energy need for leaves and distributes more energy to roots. Wonder if that'd help speed it up? Definitely gonna try with this pineapple I just got. 😁
