This is the most helpful and fun video I’ve watched on the Rose of Jericho. I love your French character… and your little turtle friend in this video. 😁 Thank you!

@@flappyfish42 I have a question. My Resurrection plant looks like it has mold growing on it. What have I done wrong!? I had it in water for a couple of days and then moved it to soil.
@flappyfish425 жыл бұрын
Don't be afraid of the mold. You can rinse it off or let it go dormant. They prefer to go dormant several times a year. Mine have done best not having them in potting soil. The soil base should be gravel or like a cactus-mix soil.
@flappyfish425 жыл бұрын
most store purchased plants come with lava rock to use as the base to place the plant on top of it.

Do you just leave it there? Or do you transfer it on soil? Also, how often do you water it? My questions are basically about the after care of it.
@flappyfish425 жыл бұрын
I just leave it there sitting on top of the gravel. No need to transfer to soil. In summer i water about once or twice in a week. then let it dry out for a few days. In winter about once or twice a month.

Does not need to be soiled. I'm learning too because I got me and my mom 1 and she said they came as seeds.

Hello, I would like to ask you, I've gotten the Rose of Jericho for some years now, and the first I opened it, the leaves turned green. Since then, however, anytime I open it, the leaves are brown. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you for your help.
@flappyfish422 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately it may possibly be dead. I had one before this plant in the video and it stopped turning green also and it wasn’t fluffy or furn-like as it used to be. It is deceiving because even the dead ones will spread out when watered. I would need to see a picture of it to give a more accurate analysis. I have even heard of some new plants out of the package being dead on arrival. Best of luck with it. Thank you for watching and commenting.

Can I put water just on the roots or can I leave it under water? I've seen people putting it under water.. Doesn't it die?
@flappyfish423 жыл бұрын
Starting out with a new one I submerge it in water one time. Once I have it placed in its rock tray I just water over the top of it and leave just enough water to cover the rocks. Then I let it dry out. Since it is a plant that lives in dry desert locations naturally it will most likely die being placed underwater all the time. For all plants we should try and mimic the type of location where they grow naturally. Thanks for watching!

Hi Kent, I just got one of these plants today. I was googling for care instructions and I’ve found some websites say shade only, and others specify full sun. What do you say?
@flappyfish425 жыл бұрын
It prefers semi-shade and temperatures around 75 degrees. Where I live the full sun would be too intense. I keep mine inside near a sunny window.
@melan81215 жыл бұрын
After they open do u advise keeping them in the water. Mine is just beginning to open...
@flappyfish425 жыл бұрын
The plant prefers to dry out several times a year. I let mine go a week with water just below the plant at rock level.

How do you propagate it
@flappyfish423 жыл бұрын
I have not tried tp propagate it. What I have read online is it will seed or sometimes a piece (cutting) will break off and start a new plant. Like all cuttings and planting seeds it will need to have the right conditions to germinate/take.
