From April to May. I usually grow them indoors and then take them outside when it is warm, see video from 0:00 - 1:37.

I started mine from April to May. First, wet the towel or kitchen paper and use a water spray twice a day to keep them hydrated. The seeds should germinate in 3- 7 days. Once germinated and established. They are not frost hardy, the black seeds are best started indoors and then planted out once the last frost has passed. The plants can be transplanted outdoors in summer. Warm conditions and good sunny weather is the best and allowed to fully develop.

Before the melon is cut open, how can we tell if the seeks have already turned black, and not still too young? Can the seeks still turn black after the melon has been cut from the tree?

The shark fin melon is huge and old enough with very hard skin. After picking you can keep in the good air area for a few years. Even the middle size of melons with hard skin, after a year later when you cut, is also surprising to see a lots of black seeds.

When you see yellow flower, turn to behind about 3 to 4 leaves and cut the head off. They are no stop and continue growing.

Yes. You must watch all the parts. Shark fin melons usually have hard skin and it can keep up to a few years. if soft skin, normally too small like baby shark fin melon, it will need to cook as soon as possible because they are too young.
