@@catherineparcell9337 It’s pretty easy. You need at least two 5 gallon buckets and a lid. On the bottom of one bucket drill many holes and use a bit less than the diameter of the seeds. 1. Put a few a cups of seeds in the bucket with no holes and put in more water than will cover all the seeds. (Any sunflower seeds will do. I use the same seed for this as a do for bird feeding.) Let soak for 24 hours. 2. Dump the soaked seeds into the bucket with holes. Use a hose to rinse them for a minute. Let it drain. Put a lid on it. 3. Next day, fill the bucket the seeds are in again and let it drain. 4. Repeat 3 until the seeds have sprouted to the point you are easy to feed them to the chickens. They’ll eat them after they have just sprouted or sprouted for a few days. They. Will. Love. Them.

Hello! I have a question. Do I rinse the sprouted seeds until the very last day even when the jar is getting full? I'm excited to try these for my hens!!
@deinse8211 ай бұрын
Ideally, yes.The rinsing serves to provide moisture, but, more importantly, it stops mold (especially if it's chlorinated water from a tap). And it certainly doesn't hurt to rinse. You can of course just experiment, see if you get away with not rinsing at the end. Just be aware that if it gets moldy at all, you gotta toss the whole thing, don't feed it to your chickens.

My fiances sitting next to me and he looks over and says- "..look, you can get a few chickens, but YOU have to care for them and were not bringing the whole zoo home! Yah got me?" 🤣😂🤣😂 I used to have some chickens but they were dying of old age- (as I rescued them from a local poultry farm from being buthered) and I'd had them for a few years myself. Been watching & binging on your videos to give them the BEST, "new" info, nutrition, shelter, (watched a couple others with how to get some shelters started) but I still have, the old "shed" part- thats like attached to the side of my garage- which was used for my other cluckers! I was just lookin for another, alternative, maybe a "wheel" operated one that either I, could push around OR- I found this other guy that ripped a "wheelchair" motor off and stuck it to a "shed" that he built & every couple hrs, it moves to a new spot of grass. ..and this thing just goes around his yard and the chickens fertilize his backyard! If there are ANY good, ETHICAL people that you could mention- those who also want to do "good" by the CHICKENS- and not themSELVES- it would be EXTREMELY helpful- ..and I'd be grateful, of course! 😉 ❤

It's a little riskier with houseplants but I did it for years with no issues, i didn't let it stand for more than a day. For example if i rinsed it 2-3 times a day i would use that pitcher of rinsing water at the end of the day to water houseplants.
