FYI I tried this with the Mavic Air today. It works pretty much the same as the Mavic pro. However, I changed "control_mode[2]" from 7 to 3 and it turned P mode into attitude mode. Keep up the good work Drone U!

Does it matter if you put Attitude Mode in the Sport slot or the Tripod slot? I put it in the Sport slot and handling seems to still have the characteristics of Sport Mode; very fast, and without any proximity sensors!

After flying with ATTI replacing SPORT for a few flights, I reconfigured to Paul's suggested replacement of TRIPOD instead. Reason being that ATTI was only capable of 22mph. For me, SPORT's faster speed is desired for quick positioning and getting "caught" in a high wind situation.

Unfortunately, you have to sacrifice something - I like tripod's forgiveness for close proximity - roof inspection for example. Changing other settings like GPS+ tilt_atti_range may be an alternative to bring the speed back up - but it may also spill over (it impacts P mode) so that there's more prop visibility.

If you are used to flying acro i see no reason why not. I have not tried this myself but playing with the numbers should get you there. I bet mode 1 or 2 is acro. ;) Keep me informed f you are successful and be careful. ;)

@@AtortAerials I wouldn’t imagine so. It’s easy enough to go in the computer and switch it back to all the default settings. But if you actually crash while in ATTI mode and they inspect your flight logs, then they might not honor a claim.

Robert Rath On my Mavic 2 this work great assigned to either Sports or Tripod modes though I have not worked out which I prefer yet. Note however the GPS is still active and if the drone enters a No Fly Zone it will revert to GPS mode and initiate landing.

For some, ATTI mode is desirable for: 1. In chase footage, it allows you to drift along with your subject when you have momentum instead of having to fight positioning stabilities. It's easier to finesse your relative position and make smoother transitions. 2. In environments where GPS coverage is unreliable, I prefer ATTI mode selection so you always know what mode you're in and how it will respond. When the flight controller is bouncing between modes, control latency and changing handling characteristics can be introduced which is highly undesirable in close proximity work. 3. ATTI may be a quick way to gain more control of your craft when a more advanced mode isn't working well. Switch to ATTI and just fly it.

I try in both Windows and Mac with the recomended procedures but I get a tottaly different window on th side of the app ASSISTANCE 1.1.2, Seens to be the same Web Inspector HTML Code or something like that you could get on browsers, so, no acess to Storage>> functions...!! I try the MAVIC 2 ZOOM and the MAVIC PRO, same problem.

I'm on latest firmware. Downloaded 1.1.2, followed directions, changed value to zero, then true, but when I go back to Mavic the additional features never appear. When I do Command+Option+I the values have returned to 0 and false, like it's not accepting the changes. Any ideas? Is it because I'm on latest firmware?

Thanks Paul, I replaced the Sport mode w/ATTI. I needed a "locked on" ATTI mode during last week's indoor close proximity inspection. The active flight mode was simply wrong displaying 180 degres from what was expected. ATTI is also desired/needed for upcoming air-to-air chase training. Thank you for this!
