Great video! Thanks for the supply list. Love how you set it up all the links on a spreadsheet. I just ordered my eyes from Amazon and can't wait to give this a try. I'm very excited!! Thanks for sharing all this very helpful information. 🙂

Great tutorial! Thank you for showing how to do it cheaply. Honestly I wasn’t even interested in making glitter eyes but I watched the whole thing and realized I already have all the supplies I need lol

I’ve got all the supplies to try this! Was thinking of doing and said to myself “I’ll bet there’s a KZbin video about this subject! Yours was the first one to pop up! I’m also thinking that maybe resin would work on the back as well to seal everything in and protect the paint from peeling off the plastic (especially in the wash). Mica powders and glitter could be added to the resin too.

Yes ! Now I use resin and do different glitter and shimmer techniques but I’m so glad you found this video to start 🫶🏻

Literally just been dumping glitter into mod podge & painting the eye. Now I know its not just me thinking it was cloudy!

Thank you so much for this video beautiful! I’ve been wanting to paint safety eyes. I tried once using chunky glitter any nail polish. It came out okay but I like the way you make yours! I ended up buying mod podge cause I thought it would seal best but thank you for the tip! ❤ just subscribes

Love this! Thank you! My friend uses the chromatic, flaky nail polishes to make hers. They always turn out so good, but smelling nail polish for a while would give me a headache. So this is such a great alternative! Thank you again!

This was super helpful! I've been trying to figure it out I have had people ask for specific colors and used construction paper in the past and I didn't like the way it looked in the end. Also is your computer background prestige battle cat jinx? I play league all the time ❤️🥹🤣❤️🤣❤️🤣❤️

Have you tried sealing the back with nail polish? I think it might make the eyes water resistant then as acrylic paint is water soluble. Thanks for this video, very helpful!
@SweetBeansCrochet10 ай бұрын
I have heard of using nail polish, I can’t remember who said it but apparently it deteriorates the plastic ? Unsure if there is truth to that I might have to try it out ! ☺️
@Itsatotalmystery10 ай бұрын
I was wondering the same. You'd need something to seal the acrylic paint otherwise, the paint will disappear if you had to wash the plushie even once. I'm wondering what can be used that won't affect the plastic, or cloud it but also will actually seal the paint. Might have to experiment sometime.

After reading this comment I had to check mine to make sure before commenting. I haven't washed mine yet, but I have plushes that I've made 1.5 yrs ago with nail polish, the eyes still look great. Never thought acrylic paint would hold up over time, I'll have to give it a try....

do you have any pattern recommendations that use glitter safety eyes? i just made a bunch of 18 and 20mm eyes but don’t know what to use them on!
@SweetBeansCrochet5 ай бұрын
Small to medium sized projects! I made a ton of hand Pokémon and used 20mm for them or small/medium sized fruit/food they look cute on but not anything intricate or large, that mm wouldn’t look best
@Whimsyyarnwork7 ай бұрын
This is such an amazing video!! One question, how do you get rid of that little notch the safety eyes have on them? From what I've noticed every eye has one on them! I also buy the same eyes you have listed. Just like a little notch on the side. Just curious if you get rid of that in the eyes you sell! Thank you again! ❤
@SweetBeansCrochet7 ай бұрын
That’s a great question yes I sand them down gently, some of them are too damaged and I do not sell those. I have quality checks and sand every pair by hand that I sell and use myself 🥹 some sizes don’t have the notch (25 mm always has them)
@Whimsyyarnwork7 ай бұрын
@SweetBeansCrochet Thank you so much for answering! I've been making eyes with resin and glitter for myself with my plushies, but i've been debating selling them and wondering how the heck to get that little notch off! I really appreciate that you don't gatekeep information! There's room for all of us! ❤️

How much of the mica powder would you use? Also what color of paint should i use? Great tutorial !!!!
@SweetBeansCrochet9 ай бұрын
I like adding the micro powder to my glitter paints since the glitter paints don’t have color backgrounds. The amount of powder is up to you, but I found less is more, they are really pigmented :) hope it helps!

So i am currently doing the Folkart DragonFly Glaze, and i am scared to put black or white behind it, what do you recommend?
@SweetBeansCrochet5 ай бұрын
I did dragon fly glaze before, it has a white cast I would probably use white but I know it’s been a while since you commented. Hope it helps !
