I just discovered your videos and your channel through a KZbin recommendation on public speaking. And I cant thank you enough. The way you speak and the tone of your voice is really how one should communicate. And thanks alot for posting these videos we sure do need to learn.

I'd like to thank you for sending tips of encouragement and self awareness. I had a terrible gap in my life taking care of my mother. She got cancer..terminal one...I ve stopped my entire life to look after her...quit my job. ...stopped studying..I ve graduated at the age of 50. Now she is dead and I'm 53 ya trying to mend all my life with words of success like yours. I want to thrive not only survive. ...Thanks professor.Maria Luiza

Great video. What I like to tell myself is to "Get comfortable with being uncomfortable" I think presenting in front of people gets easier with practice but if you can learn to embrace the "uncomfortable" you can become a better presenter over time.

Avoiding anxiety is not a management to it but it's running from it; running from fear will never fix it but will magnify it instead.

I am an avid #MentalHealthAwareness advocate and spoken word performer, and I love this so much. I travel the country trying to bring that awareness on stages, in classrooms, hospitals, and on my KZbin channel, so I get excited when I see other advocates. 💙❤

Great advice again. I've suffered terrible anxiety over public speaking in the past, but I've found a measure of solace in the realization that a "presentation" is not a presentation of me, but rather the presentation of ideas and information through the spoken form (it sounds obvious, but its important to make the distinction in your own head). Nobody is there to judge you on a personal level. The professionals in the room (the only ones you should care about) will be judging your ideas. Furthermore: while most of the audience will be naturally well meaning and would like you to succeed, most of them are simply not that interested in you or your inadequacies. So, try not to make it about you. If somebody is giving a terrible presentation (hardly able to get their words out/getting their PowerPoint slides mixed up etc), you don't sit there thinking: "Omg, what a terrible failure of a human being, I hope they get run over by a bus" -the natural thing is to get a bit annoyed: "My god, I wish they'd get on with it". Remember: the very worst thing that can happen is that you give a bad presentation (you might sound nervous, or boring), its not a life and death situation, so don't let your nervous system trick you into thinking it is!

Thank you Connor good advice as usual. Something which helped me today when I had to deliver information to a group of students. Is that I need to remember to be grateful that I am able physically to do this. Some people get unwell or have to live after an accident and having health should be a motivator.

Thanks for the idea, this will really helps. As for myself I had an experienced in public speaking in my previous company. The first attempt usually gives the greatest anxiety however if you often do it you learn to manage your own anxiety. And i just learn to accept the possiblity of embarassment which in return makes me perform well. Thank you Conor.

Hi Conor! I love that part at the end where you talked about growth. I have written your semi-speech down so I will never forget, for the rest of my life. Truly Inspirational i'm shaking at how immense that was to hear hahah, hopefully i'm shaking because of what you said, but idk why still hahah. Where does Pep Marí say this about Growth? Is it on his channel, or is it a Tedx Talk? And I know it will be in Spanish as I am hoping to learn and translate it (:
