It's not irrelevant to the topic, because the same thing that applies to pointing applies to handshakes. It is a lot easier for most people to understand it when it comes to pointing than handshaking, because most people do and experience pointing more than handshaking.

I have a natural inclination to be palms down at all times, palms up is uncomfortable and unnatural. Simply how i'm built, I'm quite pleasant to be around, honest, kind, generous just a straight shooter ... But I guess I should train myself to come off less imposing or 'forceful'. I have a firm handshake and like other men to have the same. I find other hispanics mostly who are good, hard working and honest for some reason give a very limp grip shake and they tend to look away as they do it, I'm talking people I've known for years! Is it a "Machismo" thing where they equate a firm handshake with agression? I equate a firm shake with one's "WORD" his bond, a gentleman's agreement. Is my instinct wrong?
