@shotgunsherman10 ай бұрын
@@matthewlacey4198 imo yes 100%, I use the axes and hatchets, and hammers I hang, so if it's just a wall hanger it doesn't matter. But if your gonna use it, the little bit extra really helps keep the head on more tight, and for a much much longer period of time. That little bit on top helps the wedge spread the wood for a much tighter hold that lasts alot longer.

We love your work. My family and I own a small Logging operation here in the USA and while we hang our axe heads a bit differently than you (we carry our axes to the timber everyday and they mostly are used for driving wedges to help fall a tree, it's still got to work like an Axe) we use mainly Hickory or Ash when we can get it and most of us old timers prefer to age and cut our own handles to fit our needs and hang our own axe heads. Some are passed down from Father to Son or Grandfather to Grandson for generations and are highly prized tools for a faller that still does boots on the ground falling like we do. It's always interesting to see how others around the world do things....you never know when you might learn something. Thanks Again for your interesting videos.

Thank you very much, we really appreciate it. Thank you for sharing good stories. We are from Thailand, Axes are not widely used here due to the hot climate. We don't need to cut down trees to use in the winter😅. Most of our work tends to be more about collecting and displaying. So we looked for a beautiful American ax head and found some beautiful wood that we had and assembled it into a piece of art. Most of the wood we use is rosewood and there are many more exotic woods. We have plans to create a room to display all the axes we make. Thank you for visiting🙏🙏😍😍

My neighbor, former recon from the Nam era in his 70's, busted the handle on his spitting axe. Having some scraps of oak he asked if he could take one. With a pocket knife and some sand paper he made a great one in minutes as I was proud to bear witness from the porch.

@@ChemEDan lol👍 My room mate was trying to make bets as he did it in 10 minutes. We would have bought him a handle. He and his wife that was ten years younger were the best for many reasons. His wife being a little pistol that she was would bicker back and forth with him for further entertainment. You could tell what her mood was by looking at her hands. If there was a gun there, you knew. She was a good shooter too. But she always missed her husband if she fired at him. If she saw you in the store before you saw her she might sneak up and knock you in the arse with her shopping cart to say hello. He met God a couple years back in his early 80's while she's living in God's waiting room aka Fla.

Thank you very much. There are many people who like our work and dislike our work. I am grateful and appreciative of those who admire me. As for people who don't like me, I respect their opinion but must have a reason. I can only explain my reasons because I come from a different country to those people. We have different cultures, different environments and different types of wood that we use to make ax handles. Those are some of the reasons why there are different ways of working. I hope that those people understand and accept differences and diversity. If they don't accept I wouldn't respond much because I knew exactly what I was doing.
