How To Hang Banners In The Gym

Posted some pictures of the banners I was hanging in the basement and I had a lot of questions about how I do this. In this video I just talk through and show you what I do.

Side note, I know some haven't had the best luck with Gorilla Tape, but it's worked well for me over the years and is super inexpensive ($8/roll). I made a note in the video but the first few days after you hang banners, especially bigger ones, you should go back in and touch up and sag points.

We've had a lot of success using velcro. Has an adhesive side for both the wall and the banner. Super easy to take on and off or change if you'd like to.

Hey Brandon. This is so simple and better than the command hooks and drilled hooks I’ve been doing. Did you ever make a video on how you put up flags? I couldn’t find it but would love to know how you do those.

So what I've found works best for me is to use screw hooks and I put them right into the joists, or right on some of the stacked wood that's on top of my foundation. I might be able to do a quick video on it.

Seeing how you went for an "industrial look"with the unfinished ceiling i actually really liked the bare concrete and also makes the background more peacefull then with all the clutter the posters create. For light you could actually do well with rails and mount spotlights on them.

Yup. I could’ve had Rogue ship everything directly, but just ordering an RM-3 and some barbells would’ve cost like 1,200 in shipping. Freight forwarding is much cheaper.

I was gonna take the adjustable dumbbell route, but decided that individual rubber-hex dumbbells were a better fit for me. Coop from garage gym reviews explains that pretty much all rubber hex dumbbells come from the same manufacturer, figured I’d just get the ones from Again Faster that were in stock. The 5-50 lb set makes sense... the later increments get very pricey, but I’m starting out as a personal trainer... so I’ll just make sure to acquire those later... waaay later. I like the route you’re taking in your upgrades. Cheers dude.

This honestly is a massive help, I got a sport flag to put on my wall, but of course a flag only has the side holes, but the picture is sideways. I've found nothing helpful until this

Brandon, if cooler temps in the basement works against the adhesiveness of the tape - would you recommend running a small heater in the area for a few minutes where you plan to mount the banners before actually doing so?

Gorilla tape is tough as, we placed some over our power switches when washing the garage, it was surprisingly really tough to take off after the job was done, would have used the grey tape to join our horse stall mats but prefer black tape, so went with 3m black tape, definitely not as strong as the gorilla tape.
