Tension rods are not so great, every few weeks they just go pop, and the nets fall to the floor, also the damage they do to wall is unbelievable.

Thank you! I hadn't heard of tension rods. I like this solution.

But have u got any idea for bay windows net curtains?
@FlosKalimbaWorld3 жыл бұрын
Such a lovely idea! I've used one for a shower curtain though not for windows. The longer one seemed to droop in the middle. Is there a good fix for that?
@puccafreak3 жыл бұрын
I actually used a command hook for the middle but that's because it was against the window frame, not sure about a shower curtain sorry!
@FlosKalimbaWorld3 жыл бұрын
@@puccafreak Thank you! Was actually asking for the window frame.

Loved the video. And you explained everything very well. However if I could point out, the sound equalisation made the video very hard to watch. You voice compared was very quiet while in comparison the music very loud. Other than that I really enjoyed it and and now want to get rid of my wires :-)

northshorepx thanks for the feedback. It was my first tutorial so I'll keep that in mind for the next one 😊

Expect a shitting yourself moment in the middle of the night when the rod falls
@puccafreak7 жыл бұрын
mj897 I haven't had a problem with mine they seem quite sturdy. Have you tried expanding them further so they fit really snug against the walls? I can tug at mine and it doesn't budge. Let me know if that helps you at all 😊
@mj8977 жыл бұрын
Serena KJ hi Serena tension fit stuff does work. People even use push bars in door ways but eventually most house move with temperature and just a millimetre of movement and it will fall. You could glue but then it'll be stuck. That why I drill and hook it. It's not that hard diy job

Hey Serena - thank you so much for this video!! I'm just about to get net curtains and think I'll get some tension rods for my bay windows :-)

Hi there, can you tell me where you got tension rod
@puccafreak Жыл бұрын
If you're in the UK, I got it from a shop called The Range 🙂

Hi i am looking for tension rod for really wide windows and i saw this product on the range website do you still recommend it? Do they last?

I’ve used tension rods in my house on all windows but they keep falling down- I’ve had that experience in the past before as well. But I’ve no idea what else to use as I have plasterboard walls too - otherwise I would have used the wire
@avinpertab50516 ай бұрын
That is literally my dilemma at the moment too, i have wooden frames so its not a problem now but about to change for uPVC and do not want to drill into those

Hi. Just wondering how solid is the tension rod? Will it come off if kids pull on the net?
@puccafreak3 жыл бұрын
Probably! I didn't realise this as I didn't touch them after I put them up. But since getting a kitten, she's pulled them down twice! Maybe look at a more durable solution
@DH-jv4rt3 жыл бұрын
@@puccafreak thanks. I had a feeling they wud come off. My boys r always at the window and pulling the nets really fast when they wana see something, so most likely will come off.

Problem.... The tension rod, without support, sags in the middle of a larger window.
@puccafreak5 жыл бұрын
I realised after a while that I had this issue in my living room. I got a command hook to put in the middle of the rod, seeing as the rod and net aren't heavy, it's worked a treat!
@Neilhuny3 жыл бұрын
ditto many others here - I never thought of a tension rod. Let's be honest - I had no idea such things existed I live in rented accommodation for the first time in 40 yrs and didn't know how to create a little privacy because I don't want to/probably not allowed to drill holes for fixing a wire

Yummy Mummy thanks for your comment! My extension rods are from the range so are quite basic but seem quite sturdy. Try making the rod a little longer so there is more pressure against the wall, that might help. Let me know how you get on 😊

Thank God you meant voiles, I couldn't believe that someone was putting up actual net curtains, as in those rancid things my mum had up at every window, gross floral and ugly as hell. But voiles do not offend me. Tension poles are great though, I have used a huge thick one to hang a heavy pair of 90in lined curtains right across my hall across my front door and window to stop draft in winter and its held perfectly. Any no DIY solution and im usually in.
