I see people having all kinds of trouble throwing that rock bag where they want it. What I do is use my hiking stick as a catapult. Tie a loop at end of string that just fits over end of hiking stick, rock bag is 8 inches down from loop, then rest of the line. Swing stick and stop just before straight up, the rock bag catapults off the hiking stick, catapult gives more power & directional control.
