If I'm be honest, when I'm having a panic attack all my friends say is " are you ok, oh my gosh are you ok" and it makes me more and more overwhelmed to the point that I just can't stop crying and shaking. And the next time they see me, they bring it up. It's been like 2 year since I made this comment, and yes I have an understanding on how the other feel about the freak outside I had🙂 I got help, I'm not friends with most anymore only one but ya, I'm getting help with my issues and have been feeling better than I was before.

Had my first panic attack when I was lost with a friend (we took the wrong bus and ended up in a random road) she basically talked very calmly and told me to sit down and asked me if I wanted her to tell me a story, say something funny, be silent, etc. That for sure helped

When I have a panic attack I dissociate pretty hard and feel like I not here and I'm I'm 'watching' my body instead of being in control of it. My boyfriend asks me to do very simple movements eg 'raise your left arm, 'stamp your foot twice' etc and reminds me that I controlled that movement. It can really help!

So i did originally try to major in it till I realized a psychologist only diagnosis you not talks with you so then i thought maybe ill be a therapist but they get paid about the same amount as a teacher (not much) and you dont get to help like you think tou do theyre not allowed to give much advice in case someone takes it out of context and blames it on the therapist (just for an exanple “she told me to just kill the negativity in my life so i killed my boyfriend”) theyre mainly there to just listen which is why group therapy tends to be the most successful in helping others because everyone can share advice and the therapist can basically say if its good or bad advice. I thought maybe i could help more in a psych ward but theres just a lot of reasons why thats not gonna be something i do. I mean it depends where you live aswell and what the rules are about what you can do or say most good therapists break the rule about not giving advice but I personally wouldnt want to take chances. Also realized i can easily empathize with people because my past isnt the best either and itd devastate me if they offed themselves and i would definitely take work home with me and worry about my patients. You may know all this but i wanted to say it all because i was lucky to find out after just one semester so i didnt really waste any money in college and im instead gonna be a vet so i can help animals and indirectly help their humans too

Yes I have 2 great tips that helped me get out of panic attacks. And I suffered from the age of idk 6-8 ish yrs old. You can give the person Any random object and ask them to focus on it all the while matching your own breathing as she shows here. 4 secs in and 6-8 secs out. And have them describe in great detail whatever object you've handed them. Ask them to describe: the feel, the weight, color, shape , name something that's of a similar size and/or weight, the material it's made of, what's it for? What's something silly they could do with it? When they close their eyes and just feel it what is something they think of that reminds them of their childhood or a positive time in their life? Just think to ask them as many descriptive questions about this one random object you've handed them. If you can't think of any more questions then take that away if it's ok with them and hand them something else and (distract from the panic attack and anxiety) by asking the se and more descriptive questions about the new object.

Don't feel sorry for putting this out there, hon. It's good to confess what you feel. People are supposed to care about what's clearly troubling someone. It shows that people have concern, and empathy for others. It's all about just finding those people. Anyone who dismisses you, forget them. I know I'm saying this a year late. But still, I'm wishing you the best.

It was sports day, so loud and crowded, and as I was hyperventilating on the ground, so many people just walked past, or rushed away. Thanks to a fillipino BL series I watched, I knew what to do while my friend was having a panik attack (The things I used here were the same that were used in the series except for me being funny...lol😂😂) (⚠️WARNING:Long para ahead ⚠️) Well a friend of mine in my tuition class had Panic attack , we were sitting right in front of the teacher like she was on the second seat of one row and I was on the first seat of the other row . So what happened was that we were studying about the digestive system and the teacher was teaching that how even the stress and anxiety can cause digestive problems like constipation etc and he even discussed some points about depression and everything (tbh they were just useless I didn't agree with any of his points) so she said in a quite voice that she has depression, I thought that she might be just joking , so I said then you should go to the therapist bro..(yeah I call everyone bro lol) she said that yeah she does...and then she the smile on her face disappeared....I got suspicious cuz usually where I live people dont know what a therapist is ok..so when she said that i got suspicious....i dont know why but i was turning back to look at her again and again and then when I turned towards her for the 3rd time she was breathing very heavily....she was shaking...the girls sitting with her were just useless cuz they started to rub her hands (why would they even do that .?😡?are they crazy or what ?yeah they are just annoying ok even I dont like them) she wasn't doing any good ....so I went up to the seat in front if her to calm her down but she was still breathing heavily and tears wouldn't stop falling out of her eyes( I didn't know what happened to her but I guesssed that she was having a panic attack and that discussion might have triggered her)....I took her outside the class to a separate room and then got her seated on a stool and told her to take deep breaths with me.....I donno why her eyes were getting closed she was looking here and there i told her look straight in my eyes👁👁 and just copy the way I'm breathing....slowly....she was still shaking so I hold her hands....and then again got her to breath slowly... To distract her i ask her some questions like ,tell me 5 things that you can here?, tell me 5 things that you can see around you? Well she wasn't able to tell all the 5 of them I had to give her hints ( in a funny way I'm a bubbly person ok I cant control myself from joking ok..😂) yeah she was laughing while answering those questions , slowly slowly she was a lot better than 5 mins before.....I cracked a few more jokes over there( to make her fell better) she was now laughing with tears in her eyes....(this was better haha🤣😂)then after sometime we got back in our classroom... During this whole scenario the teacher didn't do anything... Most of the boys were laughing... The girls were making faces... But none of them cared to ask her what happened or even try to help her..... Since that day I started to sit with her cuz I know the other people wont help her ever.. so I have to do it...she was a good person tho... This was my experience with a person who had a Panic attack you guys can use this technique too.......I never knew that what I had watched on a series would get used ...but yeah you learn from everything around you.... Pls it's my request ,help people in need never laugh at them....that's just horrible...

I've suffered from bad panic attacks from the early age of 7...I'm now 32 and only the past 12ish years have learned to control it. I still have my moments like, when there was a tornado touchdown close to my home when I was over an HR away at a drs appt speeding, freaking out trying to get home to my children and husband as we had no basement and phones weren't working. I had that old familiar feeling of hands and face going numb and tingly followed by extreme shortness of breath and EXTREME DIZZINESS!!! Thank god my mom was with me so I could pullover and have her drive. There is times it takes control of me and I can't stop it. But for the most part I have learned to completely stop them by doing the old trick of focusing my attention and eyesight between 2 points and counting breaths with the switch of each random object. For me I start out quickly breathing and switching my vision and focus between these 2 points and work up to (pretty quickly for me) slowing my breathing down and slowing down the time between switching my breathing/focus on the 2 random points. This (I hope has made sense cause) has I feel, literally, saved my life numerous times. It was a technique I saw in some magazine when I was like 17-18 years old and COMPLETLEY changed my life! I ended up in the emergency room countless times from a very young age till almost adulthood before finally getting diagnosed with panic attacks. I really feel for all that are struggling. I only wanna help. If anyone is interested in this plz get a hold of me I'm not trying to get money or sell anything I promise. Just leave a comment here and I'll give you further contact info I don't mind doing a quick maybe 5 min virtual call to show you wtf I'm talking about Promise no shady shit. I'm a normal (pregnant) 32 yrs old momma of 2 living in upstate NY USA. I am not working ATM and do not own or trying to get my own "hustle" on. I'm legit a real person who saw this vid and it made me cry remembering the crap I went through and hope I can pass along the kindness to someone that might not quite understand the "technique" that I've described. Cause it's easier shown face to face than described. Anyway hope this helps at least someone.

My friend does that where she tells me to slow my breathing and takes a couple deep breaths kind of like she’s guiding me to do the same. It really helps bc in my mind, seeing her do that helps me bounce right back and I feel almost okay, just a bit shaky though. Her doing that genuinely helps me out and I’m so grateful to have her in my life!

I can help you out, love. Next time you feel that way, try to get away from whatever is stressing you out, sit down and breathe deeply and slowly. Breathe in deeply for 5 seconds, and out slowly for 5 seconds. Then hug yourself across your chest and whisper to yourself "This feeling will pass. It's going to be okay." Keep doing this for as long as you need to. If you're currently feeling this way, or should you start feeling this way again, come to me, and I'll help you. We can either talk about something, or I can help guide you through whatever is happening. I will be here for you. Wishing you well, hon.❤️

I suffered for nearly three years with fear dread and death ideations. One thing that helped was noticing they were electric like a surge of unstoppable energy, and you controlled which direction the current flowed, negative or positive. I got grip on my thoughts (hard work) and started going to place filled with people and electrical noises, lights buzzing machines ringing. I’ve been 3 years free of that PTSD.

From someone who has panic attacks, it helps me to be told that everything's going to be okay. It can seem unnatural to say that to someone who is panicking but it honestly helps.

The best part about having friends who’s parent is a psychologist is they know how to help with panic attacks. I had one today actually and I could breathe or see anything and I felt a shortness of breath and my friend has this little textured ball and held it in my hand and guided my threw my breathing and helped me calm down and stayed with me until I felt okay

I remember getting a panic attack in the public transport and I was with my boyfriend. I told him I was going to panic and he made sure I was feeling safe and secure by talking to me about pleasant subjects in a calm voice (like how nice the weather is today or how pretty the view looks). He reassured me by hugging after a bit and makes sure I take it easy after it's over.💛💛
