Really good video. Yours is the only one I’ve seen that covers everything from spooling all the way to lure selection and the spread. Thanks!

Very informative for those who haven’t trolled a lot and want to learn. This guy knows his stuff and he’s passionate about fishing and teaching others how to fish the right way. I subscribed so I can get more valuable information. There’s no doubt he catches fish when he leaves the dock!

Thanks for a great video. I think one of the most important topics was just at the end when you spoke about the ROFFS reports and when to fish. Any chance you could do a video on the best conditions and info to gather before Wahoo fishing? I recently went out of Hillsboro inlet at 5:45 AM and killed it by 9:00 AM. We went out another day and trolled North while zig zagging E to W all the way to Delray and back and not even one bite. What's the secret sauce on the Moon, tides and ROFFS reports????? First day was an outgoing tide a few days before the full moon. The second unproductive day was three days after the full moon on a Super Moon but incoming tide half way through.

Great video with lots of good information! I have a question. What is the reason you use the hollow core braid instead of regular braid for the main line?
@stayxtreme3 жыл бұрын
Well, I’ve never had hollow core braid break on me. So for the high speed function, I simply trust it more than regular braid that I have had fail me several times. It’s more of a personal preference.

Do you not put silicone tape or electric tape on the reel spool so it bites and doesn't slip?

Is there no need to put mono backing prior to your main braided line?
@stayxtreme2 жыл бұрын
Not at all. The more breakpoints and splices the more chances of problems.

I really like the video. Doing a wahoo trip to Bimini this winter. Can you send me info on the rods and reels. Or can you get away with shimano tiagra 30s?do I need to get three .50s for trip. Do you run 48oz weights on all three rods? Fishing out of Milwaukee wis. Watching these videos have helped a bunch. Caught a weehoo down in the keys. It was a blast. Can’t wait to target them. Any info you guys would share would be awesome. Thanks.

Hi carl!! Thanks for the feedback! We really appreciate it. Wahoo high speed trolling is very technical, 50 wides would be my bare minimum for sure. Especially with the Two speed function, that comes in handy when bringing in the wahoo. So the two shorter lines you can run a 48 oz weight on. But the longest line back you can use a 32 or 24 oz weight. That ensures that they don’t tangle up on turns. I am switching all my rods to Connley wahoo whacker series rods with tiagra 80 wides. But you can use a tld 50 also. As far as the rod goes. Long bent butt that is stiff rated up to 130 lbs. 6ft 6 inch minimum length. Let me know if you need anymore info and I’d be happy to help! Good luck out there and stay xtreme!

What’s the reason for running the same size weight on port and starboard side but a different weight size in the middle? If you have the same weight on the two sides but staggered length wouldn’t they still cross because they are at the same depth because of the same weight? Why not use all three different weight sizes?
@stayxtreme2 жыл бұрын
Hello John. You can run three different sizes if you want. But I run them 48 oz because the closer you are to the boat the less depth the weights will reach, so by running them at 75 yards and at 125 yards those two lines will be at different depth and will never cross. And you obtain the greatest depth possible for the wahoo to attack the lure.

Do you run each rod with a 48oz torpedo weight?
@stayxtreme3 жыл бұрын
The long line in the center I use a 24 oz weight. The other two I use a 48 and they have to be staggered in length. That ensures they don’t get tangled in turns. :)
