I started letting the knee straighten this year. I’m 76 years old. It helped my bad back and added yards. I’m a believer!

Hi Todd I just discovered your excellent content and top class coaching . Any comments on wrist hinge along with your reference to soft arms. I’ve always struggled with a short backswing I’ve always believed this is partly because of my own reluctance to hinge . Ayrshire links player in Scotland . Thank you for your amazing content .

Tom, good question. The wrist hinge can greatly vary based on grip style. Assuming a neutral grip, I like to see a relatively flat lead wrist at the top of backswing. We have a couple good videos on this topic on our channel. 👊

Agree not so much a head down but I have to focus at or around the ball swinging back and through. Especially on the downswing until the club passes through.
@USGOLFTVshow3 жыл бұрын
Solid points, we must see the ball yet not be entirely ball focused. 👊

Todd , when using the vertical swing method , you bump to left to start the downswing and rhe arms start down with the bask toward the target, while the arms are a key source of power, do the hips lead through the ball or do thre hips follow the club . Even if they are in sync one must lead and one must follow. Can you clarify this.
@USGOLFTVshow3 жыл бұрын
Great question, the downswing always starts with a slight hip bump towards the target. This sets the balance towards the lead foot which allows for a nice clearing of the hips and then come the arms....bingo!

I'm new to golf and your videos have been very helpful. I am having trouble transfering the skills to the course from the driving range. Any advise?
@USGOLFTVshow3 жыл бұрын
Good question, many golfers make the mistake of simply working on their swing on the range. Try picking a different target for each shot and switch clubs up every few balls. This will be a closer replication of golf on the course. Hope that helps. 👍

I've studied Justin Thomas' driver swing. His left arm somehow stays almost perfectly straight throughout the entire swing. Is this because he's hitting a driver? Also a little bend in the left are tends to promote a bit of a chicken wing for me.
@USGOLFTVshow3 жыл бұрын
Justin Thomas is a great model swing for all golfers....you will see the same lead arm movement with his irons as well. You are on the right track!

What are your thoughts on the oversized grip phenomenon?
@USGOLFTVshow3 жыл бұрын
Not a huge fan of oversized grips unless you have very large hands or a physical condition that requires larger grips. Good question
@williamwetherington8443 жыл бұрын
golf is hitting pea size balls trailed by foot long divots with oversized clubheads whereas it should in my opinion be hitting oversize soft rubber balls with normal size clubheads'.

Watch the club hit the ball. Much better swing thought.
