By far the clearest instruction on how to hit these shots i've ever seen.

What Kind of Sorcery Is This?............ It's mind blowing to see it happen before my eyes. The Sensei shows Patrick how to hit a draw and it draws, how to hit a fade and it fades, a hook and it hooks, slice and it slices. This is so simple to remember. The flashlight aid is crucial for muscle memory.

Hi Ed, I had that thumb surgery in January, so I'm still not allowed to hit shots yet. But this is a fabulous primer on how to hit fades and draws. Like Patrick, I was always a fader. So I'm really anxious to try this all out when I return to playing. Really appreciate you taking to time to so meticulously detail how to accomplish the desired shot. All the best

Good stuff, I especially liked the comment about fluffy lies are easier to draw/hook and tight lies are easier to slice/fade,

Great job guys, I never really understood this till now! I will be watching this video a few more times to get the hang of all the different shots! If you could show a camera shot of the feet position would be a big help in putting it all together!! Thanks!

What a great lesson, ive always swung the club along my feet line when trying to draw and fade, but that looks like the wrong thing to do, i just need to swing along the target line and it's all to do with the follow through. Love the simplicity of your instruction and clarity.

Totally amazing … I always thought it was about rolling the hands or changing the grip and there was never any consistency. Instead it’s about the finish/follow through… can’t wait to practice this the next time I’m out. Many thanks for this tip/ video.. From sunny Isle of Wight UK 👍

Awesome Gentlemen : once again I appreciate your no nonsense approach to golf . Simple explanation but keen advice - love it . Thinking on visiting you all for in person training . Would love it if you could talk about hitting into wind to neutralize shots as eluded to; golf club grip ( hogan grip etc ) - thank you Ed , you are a wonderful golf instructor. Greetings from Southern California

So do you not swing along your path that is set to your feet ? Also do you go more into that release where the flashlight is pointing in front of that front alignment stick ? I’m struggling getting into that position.

Thanks for sharing. The light stick shows the stick is moving along the target line. However, with the club in hand we move the club around 45 /60 degrees inside of the target line and hinge the wrist. Which is correct?

Hopefully you see this Sir, I am struggling with a slice/fade, my club path has been very outside in, in a search to correct my club path I found you Sir and your flashlight training aid. I hope using it and this lesson I can correct my club path and rid myself of the dreaded slice. I put together my “light trainer” per your instructions. I’m 69 yrs old, pretty good shape, I will shoot 90 one day and 100 the next, the slice with D and longer clubs and being too steep with mid to short irons is my issue. I believe and HOPE the “light trainer” is the solution! Thanks in advance

@@TheGolfSensei thank you, I watched this video before I found the flashlight video and have been using the “right arm swings and the right under left swing” people at work think I’m crazy standing around doing this lol,,, and plan to use the towels next range session. I am using the flashlight now at home, several times throughput the evening.

Ed can you further explain the setup. For a draw, are my feet slightly closed and my knees, hips and shoulders slightly closed as well or am I setup with my feet slightly closed and my hips and shoulders square to the target line? I understand I will not be changing my grip and my back swing will go back following the target line and the down swing will be a normal transition with the follow thru along the target line and club swinging across my chest with the butt end of the club pointing outside of the original target line. So setup is where I need more clarity. Watched your video multiple times and wasn’t able to see how the knees, hips and shoulders align. Understand the feet are slightly closed. Help…Thanks!

Ed, I have heard and seen many differing opinions on grip pressure…. I have toyed with firm and light pressure and gave found that the light pressure help me not cast as bad, with better follow through than firmer pressure. However, firm pressure just feels more comfortable and in control! Is there some instructions you can share as to the pros vs cons of each and what is the preferred pressure for consistency, direction, distance, etc… Thanks!!
@TheGolfSensei8 ай бұрын

Does this include the Driver as well, thanks for the great video.
@notanothername1038 ай бұрын
the hook with a Driver will tend to be unreliable because of delofting on an already pretty delofted club. The tee might help you but as a general rule, I would not try to really hook or slice it on purpose with a driver. chances that you end up with a lost ball is higher than to play it smart, with a draw and to negotiate the distance to set up for a good second shot.
@whitneymacdonald43965 ай бұрын
I'm glad Ed found golf because I don't think he would have done too well as a "hooker." Great stuff. I can't wait to get out on the range and play with this. PS- I really appreciate having an average golfer demonstrate these things. For me, it makes it easier to see and imagine. Thanks for being willing Patrick.
@u2btrod8 ай бұрын
I'm trying to get this straight in my head... How would you set up if you had to severly fade/slice a ball to a green but the only opeing was about 35 degrees to the line to the pin? I don't believe that you could wing along the line to the pin as you have mentioned here. I would assume that it would be the exact opposite for a draw/hook. I may have figured it out, but I'd still be interested to see what you have to say to make sure I'm correct. Thanks.

Off subject question…. Since following this channel im seeing some progress already (havent had the weather to play much yet here in the north east) not all faults beat yet but can see it possibly happening this year …if it does , i may want to upgrade my 20 year old taylormade RAC OS irons. I love em but assume the technology has left them in the dust by now…my question is , since i dont play enough to spend $1000on new taylormade Qi irons(though it’s tempting) …so if you even have an opinion ,which model would be a good choice in used taylormade game improvement irons to consider? Stealth seems the obvious choice but are previous models close to them like sim2’s or M4’s?

You are the most amazing instructor! I live in Missouri and wished I could go to a clinic or something. I do have a question that doesn’t have anything to do with this video. Why is it that I can make fabulous contact with a driver on my home sim or the driving range but as soon as I tee it up on the course everything goes to hell in a hand basket?!!!! Nothing feels good!
