How did you remove the original panther decals? With nail polish remover or what?

Where did you get the bellow straps? Do you have to drill new holes to mount them or do they just fit at existing holes?

I got them on eBay. Do a search for “Hohner bellows strap” and you’ll see them in different colors. They were like $15. Yes, I had to fill the old holes with a small piece of toothpick and wood glue so it wouldn’t cause an air leak. Then I screwed the new ones in, took them out, added some wood glue to the thread and screwed them back in so they wouldn’t leak any air either. You don’t need to drill new holes. Just use a small screwdriver and push a bit when you’re screwing them in. I don’t know if the wood glue was necessary to prevent air leaks on the thread, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt.

Honestly, the only thing I would do differently is doing it much sooner. Not one single issue with the buttons. They’ve held up really well.

The size is mentioned in the video where I show them next to a measuring tape. Regarding the holes, the ones I purchased from Charlie Piper had the holes already pre drilled. You can look up Charlie Piper on Facebook. He’s Hohner certified and authorized.

Man, i completely agree. The old Panther one sucks. I found mine on eBay. Do a quick search in eBay for “Hohner bass strap” and you will see them there in different colors. I hope this helps!

I got mine on eBay. Just do a search for “hohner adjustable bass strap” and you’ll find them in different colors. I want to say mine was from a seller out of Puerto Rico. I love it! I highly recommend getting one!

Yes, take the bass buttons off the same way. I don’t suggest taking the entire bass valves off like I did. It would have been a TON easier had I used the same process.

Thanks! Buttons from my buddy Charlie Piper out of Midland, TX. He repairs, restores, sells, and is a master wizard with accordions. He’s on Facebook. The grill I got from BigShow, also on Facebook. I want to say it’s “Amigos de BigShow” or something like that. The graphics I did myself with my wife’s Cricut machine. Pretty easy to do if you find some graphics you like online somewhere.

Did you use any type of glue to install the new buttons on ?

I used hot glue. Before setting the buttons in place I added a dab of hot glue to the hole on the bottom of the button and then inserted it onto the button shafts. Hope this helps.

@@joaquinflores3547 depending on what kind of Hohner you have will depend how you get to the bottom section of the buttons. This video shows the process for the Panther. If your Hohner doesn’t have a removable bottom plate under finger board/keys, you have to take that whole piece off by removing the bellows to get to two screws holding the finger board piece in place. @@cre8iveone699 no problem. It’s not actually that hard. The whole process was pretty easy, actually. Panthers are really good accordions. The sounds quality and price are really good!

I used my wife’s Cricut machine. Found a font I wanted and made some decals with it.

How you change the decals removing the og and you have a ling on the new ones??

I removed the old ones with acetone and some cotton balls. You have to be really careful not to remove the black matte paint. For the new decals I had them created with a Cricut machine and carefully placed them where I wanted them. The process is actually pretty easy.

The original graphics are painted on, so that’s why I had to use acetone to get them off.

@@osmarguerrero3435 in inches they are about 1/2” wide and 5/16” tall. So that should be somewhere around 12.7-13mm (don’t know exactly) wide and about 8mm tall.

@@rh_312 are you looking for Hohner specific buttons in other colors? Or more rounded buttons like those on Gabbanelli? Yes, with nail polish remover and a qtip. Just be careful not to scrub too much or the bottom paint will also start to remove.
