Strobe affect. It is extremely important for some viewers to know about & be able to avoid strobe affect that happens in this and at least one other of your videos. I have enjoyed your content & am just in research phase of homeschool journey. Our family has a type of migraine that mimics a ministroke . Strobe affects can cause nausea, migraines & even be seizer inducing in some people . Please if you can place a warning note in between intro and rest of this and other videos which "blink in & out" fast. Thank you for your info and consideration . S

Thank you for your comment friend. I am aware of this happening on some of my videos and never know for sure when it comes up or what causes it. Although I cannot change the videos that have already been posted with a warning, I have tried to catch and reload it in recent videos.

Is something going on with your camera or is it just my playback? This is the second video I have watched of yours that flashes a green screen every once in a while, like the video is going out. The audio is stable. I didn't notice it in others videos so that's why I was wondering if it was your camera. Thanks for the video! I have a couple of Evan Moor books, but hope to utilize more of them because I need some "busy work"/ independen work to keep my kids from scattering when I am not working one-on-one with them.

Oh darn it Heather. It is a KZbin thing. Something about when I upload the video. Because the video on my editing program is fine. I noticed it on my first upload and tried again but it appears to have not fixed it. Thanks for letting me know though. Also, yay for Evan Moor books. They’re a great and affordable resource for extra practice!

Heather Nations I did just watch the playback in my phone and the green flashing didn’t happen so now I’m super confused!! What a bother.

Mine is showing the green screen too. I thought it was my MacBook - thank goodness it wasn't (can't afford a new one anytime soon ;) )

I have the IKEA cubbies with drawers as well, but I've struggled to figure out how to label them so we know what drawer is what subject. I don't know WHY I never thought to use my vinyl cutter! LOL Thank you for sharing!

You give out very helpful information. I’m not sure if it’s just me but the video keeps flashing and a green screen keeps coming up..

It’s not just you. This was one of my last videos uploaded with my old computer. It was doing this randomly and I never knew when. Sorry about that.

I enjoyed this peek into your organization! 😊 We did Evan Moore for a year before moving onto other curriculum, but I do agree that it’s very straight forward and affordable! Great option when you’re first starting out.

I just watched your video where you use a crate method for the year. I will be using evan moor books. That won't work for these?
@FullPurposeAndHeart4 жыл бұрын
Of course it can. You just have to rip out the pages you want for each week and put them into your crates. I’ve done it both ways. I find the drawers are easier when you’re using an Evan Moor book because of how the book is printed. But it does work in either method.
@jenc98864 жыл бұрын
@@FullPurposeAndHeart thank you so much!! I figured the printing would be off but I'm ok with that lol. If the crate doesn't work ill do the drawers. I happen to have 1 already would just need 2 more. I wont rip put everything at first to see if it works for us.

In your opinion, do you think Evan Moor can carry a whole subject, let's say, for Language Arts? Using nothing else, just their workbooks. I feel like I HAVE to choose a fancy, pretty, fluffy curriculum, like TGTB or some Charlotte Mason-related company. I really like what I see with Evan Moor! No fluff, just gets to the point, nice flow day-to-day....but I'm just wondering if that can also backfire = too many worksheets...?
@FullPurposeAndHeart3 жыл бұрын
I think you can certainly use Evan Moor for an entire subject area! I do it myself often. Take History for example. I use ONLY evan moor history pockets regularly for entire unit studies. Coupled with a few library books when easy to find. Science - another great option. They have a few books I love. I wouldn't focus Language Arts solely with EM because I feel like it could potentially have some holes in it. I've just never done it - thats not to say it can't be done. But in short, YES! You totally can.

Great videos and info! Do you know if any good workbooks for homeschooling an 8th grader? Looking for main subjects Bible, reading, spelling, english, math, science, history, etc. Know that Evan Moor has some workbooks for grade 8, but most are for k-6 grade. Any info is would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Not that I know of. My children are still young and so I haven't ventured into the older world. They have SOME but most are for k-6
