Happy to help. If your clutch is not slipping, I would not change the plates., within two weeks. It was the exact same thing as the original clutch. It just catches really late, but it never slipped. Hi from Australia, I’ve got a 2010 vt 750 rs , clutch is fine but I’m getting a tiny amount of slipping under very heavy acceleration. I’m guessing a good thing to do is replace springs and clutch soon . Other wise the clutch is fine in normal riding . I’ve watch your video and will give this a go myself . Thankyou for the tutorial .

Happy to help.How many miles on your Honda? It's normal for these VT 750s to slip a little unless you want to put heavy duty springs in there which will make a stiff Clutch handle. My spirit 750 catches late since I got it a couple months ago at 29k miles. Over 31k miles now and it’s never slipped or anything so I feel maybe it just grabs late like you said. I still will probably do this job asap since it’s easy and the bike is new to me I’d like to get new parts on it

i said i'd let you know if i came up with anything to make the shadow clutch better, this trick my not seem like much but since the shadow clutch doesn't fully engage until the end of the throw this actually helps the clutch stay better engaged, i put a heavy return spring on the clutch cable between the cable hold down and clutch arm like the old bike used to have. the reason i came up with this is because i've made so many tweaks to my bike trying to the bike to run like a real 750 that i started to over power the stock clutch from the increased power. even though i have a new clutch and new EBC springs (which are supposed to be 15% stronger, sitting here i had just changed the oil and wanted to stall making the change. in looking at the clutch action i noticed the clutch arm wasn't going back all the way when released so i added the spring and now the clutch is holding again. i figured if it help my situation with an older clutch and springs it should help prolong the life of a newer clutch by helping it stay engaged harder, at least that;s my theory.......

Question, why did you replace that clutch cause the look of it and age of bike looked pretty decent? I just did my 84 750 Shadow yesterday and it's the original OEM plates I took out...definitely got their monies worth outta them ones! Regardless the replacement is sooooooooooooooo much better....power to rear tire is now so much better no slipping! LOL at the end that little burn out flinging everything into the wind....LOVE IT! Oh I have a hydraulic clutch on mine hence why I've no springs...guess I'm lucky for that I guess!

Thanks for that@@TwoWheelRocco! I couldn't quite see the product in the video but I could see it was something I had never used before. Two questions: A- Do you think the squeezeout in the interior of the case dissolves in oil, so as not to clog any passages? and B- do you know how it is used as a belt dressing? i.e. is it brushed to increase tack, and if so how is that not just a band-aid instead of removing shims from a pulley or otherwise tightening it properly, or is there a legitimate reason to dress a belt?
@TwoWheelRocco7 ай бұрын
I have only used it as a gasket. It's great stuff easy prep. Honda don't use a gasket so that's what I use. I do not know nothing about belt dressing.. Hope that helped. Ride safe and have a great day.@@davidnaisuler5743

Fantastic video! I just finished installing a Barnett kit on a VT750C, and after 2 test rides, it works flawlessly. I am, however, considering tearing it back down to the hub nut to make sure the torque is accurate and to index the nut. I used an impact to tighten the nut back down during the initial install, but was unable to get an accurate reading on account of not having a special tool. What are the symptoms of a loosening hub nut? Could this be a particularly dangerous oversight, if missed?

Hi there. Great informative video. Followed everything to the letter. But I'm thinking my Amazon clutch plates may be a pile of garbage. Now I'm slipping in every gear. I did notice the new plates were thinner than the stock ones. It's actually worse than before. As long as I don't full throttle it's super smooth. But trying to get on the highway today was a bit of a problem. Do you agree that the plates are crap? Because visually it's correct. Along with all the torque specs. New springs too. Thanks.
@TwoWheelRocco Жыл бұрын
Happy to help. If those friction plates were thinner than your OEM ones there's your problem, thinner plate equals less pressure from those springs. That would be a problem. Thank you for watching. Let us know how it works out Mike. Ride safe and have a great day. It's hard today with parts.

The clutch lever doesn't have any resistance. The cable hasn't broken and I tightened everything to spec and adjusted the clutch cable slack to the max. Any ideas as to why?

Hello! I have a 2015 Honda Shadow Phantom 750cc. I was riding it recently, stopped for a hike, came back to my bike and it was like the clutch sweet spot that gets it moving had shifted. I had to release far more to get it to engage with the 1st gear. Same for 2nd. I either had to release the clutch more or give it way more gas. 3rd and on seemed fine/normal-ish. Removed, cleaned, and lubed the clutch cable. Placed the cable back on, and added the tension in there. Now i can’t even reach “the sweet spot” or get the bike to move altogether. It’s like it’s not engaging the disks. I added as much tension as possible, still nothing. I turn on the bike, shift it to first, and release the clutch lever all the way and it doesn’t do anything (ie it doesn’t die nor does it start moving). Do you think getting new springs and clutch plates and doing what you did here will solve that problem? Thanks in advance!
