Underrated as fuck video; straight to the point. I always assumed mfers who could Double Over-Grip >315lb just had really strong grip-strength. I didn't realize technique plays a huge part.

Amazing that little detail. My coach thought me this but I wasnt very comfortable doing it. I can't wait to get back to my gym routine soon enough to try this

as someone with a long term thumb joint injury from wrestling years ago, this is something i'll have to give a try. in the past hook grip has been difficult for me due to the limited flexibility and chronic issue with my thumb joint, but I think I may be able to work thru it with this technique.

Is it bad to start off with the hook grip? as a total beginner
@HORNSTRENGTH2 жыл бұрын
Ideally you want to develop your grip strength as much as possible before switching to the hook or straps. So pull with a double overhand grip for as long as you can. When the bar starts slipping, try the hook.

start now so your pain tolerance on your thumb will go up too

You can start immediately. But supplement with grip work so your grip isn’t weak

I’ve always found that it feels like the skin of my thumb is going to get ripped off, not my thumbnail 😢
