I saw maybe 7 of them over the course of two hours while swimming in Baja. One got about 5ft from us. You'd think you'd be scared of seeing one of them but if you're in a group just calm down and get as close to the sand as possible. Don't turn your back on it. Basically you're only prey if you start acting like prey

A good way to spot a bull shark is its lack of fear. Black tip reef sharks may swim up to you and you have to kick them away, but you can tell its not an attack, just curiousity. But if a bull shark swims right up to you(and I have experienced this), you have better be ready to defend yourself.

For a good reason. The are by far the most aggressive of all sharks. The original insperation for Jaws. That killer shark in 1916 was a bull shark.. I live near a bay. Plenty of them in there. It's brakish water (part salt, part fresh) It is the most common bite from sharks. The only thing good is that they are rather small for such an aggressive animal. 3-4 feet long. On occasion an orcas will come in at the entrance. The bull sharks high tail it out of there!. I think they are ore aggressive than the GW. No lie.......

sharks always see you, and choose to ignore you. you have nothing to be afraid of. Just don't swim at night or in poor visibility, murky conditions, where a shark won't be able to see you properly. you're still very unlikely to be bitten, but the probability is higher than usual, where it's basically 0

Last summer my friend and I were chased by a bull shark. At one point my friend ran out of breath. I turned to see the bull even closer to us. We were in knee high water at that point. Bull did not care how deep it was. He was four feet away. Of course I fall and could not stand up I kept sliding into a mini rut or something. Both of us were screaming. Not a soul came to help us. We raced out finally but both were barely breathing. It was by far one of the scariest things I had experienced. To this day I can remember seeing him. Water was clear. Where was it you ask? It was at huguenot st park in Jacksonville FL. Just north of st John's river. It was in July. Lifeguard on duty.
