other than the tpms on the stem tip this is not really useful as you need to take the tire off to find the other types. if you can do that, you're most likely in the car garage dealing with a mechanic

Thank you for your question! The sensitivity of the OE systems is typically not adjustable because the 25% was mandated by NHTSA in the US. You can speak with the service department at the specific vehicle manufacturer’s dealership to see what adjustments their service tools are capable of.

If you are next to a car that also has TMPS and that car gets a flat why doesn't your car sensor also go off?

Thanks for your question! All Direct-TPMS equipped vehicles have what’s called a Relearn Procedure. After following that procedure, the sensors mounted in the tires are trained to the vehicle. All TPMS sensors emit their unique ID code (their serial number) so the vehicle only pays attention to the ID codes that have been learned into its memory. The vehicle’s TPMS receiver may hear other ID codes being transmitted but it will only act upon transmissions containing familiar ID codes.

A snap-in TPMS valve is rubber (flexible black body over brass stem). A clamp-in TPMS valve is metal with a hex nut on the outside. Color may vary but most are light grey aluminum.

Generally, rubber TPMS stems are stiffer than non-TPMS rubber stems. Compare the stiffness of a valve mounted in a drive wheel versus the valve in a “donut” spare tire. A TPMS valve would also have a sensor mounted on the end of it so that limits it’s movement. If you flex a rubber TPMS valve toward the lip of the wheel, the sensor attached to the other end would press against the wheel. You would likely feel the sensor hitting the wheel barrel when you do this which gives you feedback that a sensor is inside.

0:14 = misguided. BOTH are DIRECT! Rubber vs metal stem has NOTHING to do with being direct or not. Way to keep confusing the already confused. Indirect uses ABS on rotation which is clearly not stated.
