Andy V definitely can do one soon. These are in a container. I have one in the ground growing as well. Never let the soil dry out completely. Just moist. If you have it in the ground mulch heavily water good once a week and check the soil with your finger. And decide if you need to water. Our summers here real hot so I almost have to water every day. I’ll do a video soon about what I feed them. I also do foliar spray they seem to like it lots.

Most times they get great pollination on their own. If you want to make sure just hit it one good time. Break off some of the flower pedal so you know you’ve already pollinated it.

You can or pick some of the flowers off and do so. Can use a brush helps.

You actually have a female and a hermaphrodite tree. Male trees have a long skinny stalks with flowers on them while the female and hermaphrodite flowers come out from the trunk of the tree.

You’re right about the male Papaya has flowers that hang down with the multiple male flowers in a Cluster. These are female flowers that have male pollen behind the fruit within the flower. Plus on the same tree it has just the male flower that is slender just gives extra pollination. The tree just adapts to have better success rate. I’ve even seen male papaya trees that had only the male flowers that hang down make fruit. Their fruit usually doesn’t have any seeds at all.

It sounds crazy, you have on the plant a female flower, you have a male flower that makes on the same Papaya and you have a flower that has female and male with in the same flower. This one had all three. Another type I have is a flower that has make and female with the same flower plus it has just male flowers that produce giving it better pollination. These I grew from seed.
