It's advised not to give sugar until the baby turns atleast 2 years old...

Hi Mam, Today for my wife, we have taken GCT Test, but our doctor told to take breakfast and after that took 75g of glucose with 150ml of water. After 2 hrs(exactly at 2nd hr) took blood sample and we got te report with GCT Glucose level of 160mgs. Not sure whether it's normal or not because the actual fasting GCT for 2hrs is 153, but we have not taken with fasting. Also my wife is in 12th week. Pls let us know your thoughts? We are going for NIPT scan tomorrow.

Hi sir... Usually GTT is taken only after 28 weeks.... But you say you are only 12 weeks... so I doubt if it is GTT or someother test... The GTT process is blood sample is taken in fasting and later after sugar syrup... So I'm not really sure how to interpret the results of your wife because you did not have fasting test... I suggest you to talk to your gynec and understand why the test was not taken in fasting and how to interpret the results... And good luck with NIPT...
