Interesting primer, but please turn down the volume of the effects and up that of the voice because the former becomes deafening when trying to grasp the whisper of the narrator.

Great video except sound effects dominate over the information so you miss it.

It does not matter how old the rocks are, they still look nice, beautiful, and well-preserved.

Memories!!!! My Alma Mater. Twice. First degree was so good I went back and did another one. In this case, the short, ten point fossil course followed by S260. Geology rocks! Thanks for the reminder, not only of a subject I'm still into after over a decade since I did it, but for all the fun I had and friends (amongst others! See↓) that I made over the many years I spent on & off as a student. Anyone wants to go to uni and *not* have the sort of debt you get at a "standard" uni, look into the OU. Met my hubby (of currently 32 years & counting) at summer school in '86; so I came out of it with one marriage, a bunch of full-time jobs throughout it, and 4 kids later I have 2 BAs with honours (for the one - I could go back and do that last course to get it. Sadly I was ill as I was nearing my named degree! 😭). I did such a mix of subjects that the Arts part of the BA is as much a technicality as anything else, because I studied planetary science (including exobiology), maths - and its history, classical Greek, music, English literature and language, astrophysics... The list goes on. It was for my interest, and the maths so I could keep up with my kids! Even though I had to temporarily stop throughout the 90s (that's when the kids appeared. Maybe I should have done biology 😂), it was easy to restart in 2000. I did the last Mars short course, and our dept leader was Prof Colin Pillinger. Many a tear was shed on Christmas Day, '03. We all believed our "pup" was out there, despite the nasty "jokes" aimed at it and the Prof (all unwarranted!) and it's since been shown that he's down there, intact, but 2 solar panels failed to deploy. Considering the fact that it was probably the cheapest probe ever to land on Mars - a 1/1 record for landing, or even orbiting Mars, is far beyond the range of many other agencies which spend *billions* on their landers & orbiters, numbers of which have failed miserably, and amusingly when the USA showed that even its engineers can't be trusted to count in base 10! Professor Pillinger's students believed in him and Beagle, we refused to joke about the pup because we knew the Prof was right. Sadly, he passed away a year before the success was discovered. Those days, his passing and Beagle's discovery, were two others when I'm positive that my fellow "Martians" also cried. The OU grabs you by the heart and never lets go. Were I to become suddenly rich, I'd set up a scholarship fund in the Prof's name, because he inspired the feck out of us 💔. Many people watch excellent TV programmes that they don't realise are actually Open University productions, often alongside the BBC, but not always! Sorry for the ramble, but I really miss studying with the OU and wish I could afford it now. But I can't work, so no money to do it, and because I have a degree, I have no right to assistance and wouldn't ask for it either. Maybe one day the urge will overcome me and I'll tackle French at an academic level. There's only one place I'd trust to teach me!

Volume of narrative extremely inadequate for smartphones Please give serious consideration to reposting with smartphone users in mind Aside from volume issues this presentation is informative, concise and entertaining Thank You

Has nothing to do with smart phones. I'm on PC with speakers, the narrator is falling asleep while whispering. And the sound effects make it painful to turn the volume up.

So, When I moved, I found this rock in my basement. It's a really dark gray(almost black) with some orange tint and black bubbles. Any idea what it is? It's also pretty heavy. You can lift it with ease, but it's got some weight to it. It's the size of my palm. Maybe a piece of Iron?
