Thank you for the info. I have a list number 3220-S with a date code 184. My car is a 1964 Rambler Ambassador. Does the date code mean I have a 1961 or 1971 build date?

Good video but I bought a Holley carb that was built for blow thru so the choke plate was cut off. He said it would be hard to identify but if you take apart you can figure it out what do you have to look for?

Where do you look for parts for the 1850-1. This is on the tower and on one of the tanks. I can not find a complete rebuild kit. The most difficult part to find which is not in a kit is the needle seat.

I have a 6R 5534 B and there is no list number on the side and no choke horn, factory body not cut off by someone. There is no date code. The blades are 172 and 173. What is it? Nothing comes up at all anywhere.

Well, Apparently I got a very early model "Mighty Demon 650" its so rare it Doesn't even have any stamping numbers at all ?.. I got it back in the day at the World ford Challenge in Saint louis from a Vender my guess would be that it probably was factory reject and sold as New. Lessen learn "Never buy from any venders anywhere!!"

Great video but I've got an 80783-1 and have been through Holleys "master list" for a rebuild kit and it just says N/A 🤷‍♂️ Unfortunately in the UK its hard to find parts or people that are able to help so anything would be appreciated 🙏

I have an old Dominator that has a casting number of 12R-4325B that came with the quad velocity stacks. For the life of me, I can't find a listing number *anywhere* on the carb body. Was there a special place that I should be looking on this particular body?

I'm in the same boat literally. Demon 2bbl on the ford 5.0 in my boat has zero casting numbers.

I have a question that someone can hopefully answer. I built a sbc 406 stroker a few years ago. For the first 2-1/2 to 3 years it had a small F series supercharger with an 850cfm demon blow through carb and a Holley red fuel pump. I recently changed to naturally aspirated with an 750cfm demon carburetor and the same fuel system set to 6-1/2 psi. But It is flooding out super bad. The float levels are set correctly just a hair under half way in the side site glass. I can turn on the fuel pump with the engine off and no fuel is coming out of anywhere. I can fire it up and it will barley stay running at about a quarter throttle. I can turn the fuel pump off and in about 4 seconds it will start leveling out and idle correctly until it uses all the gas in the carb. I can turn the fuel pump back on while it is idling correctly and in about 3 to 4 seconds it will start loading up again. I am out of ideas on how to fix this thing.

Their date code system sucks. Three Digit - Example 763 > 7 - Year (1967) , 6 - Month (June) , 3 - (Third Week) Four Digit - Example 0798 > 079- Day of Year (would land in March) , 8 - 1978/1988/1998/2008

Hi Ian, The number you are referencing is more than likely a casting or individual part number. Most of Chrysler's slant six engines were equipped with Holley's 1920 single barrel carburetors. There are several variants of these carbs (examples of some list numbers are (3225, 3279, 4414, 6591, 4712, 4352, 4405, 4195) so be sure to verify the list number of yours before ordering parts. It doesn’t matter if the carb is 5 years old or 50 years old as long as its rebuildable. Age of it don’t matter, at least with a Holley carb, maybe if it were one of the other guys’ carbs it would be rotted away junk which I consider those metal-blocks as a throw-away carb anyway, as in if Myself or a buddy gets a vehicle or engine that has one on it, we’re throwing it away and building a Holley for it... (use your imagination for what carb brand metal-block rhymes with)

Is this channel still active? I have a pre-Holley Demon with the number 8 by that vent tower and I am led to believe that it is an 850. Do you know of any further ways to identify this???

Can you please help me? I found my list number but I cant find a name for the actual carb to see of it is compatible with the efi conversion super sniper kit or blowthrough turbocharging. The list number is 80460 and the date is 1975. Please help me.

You have a 4160 style 600cfm carb. It is not set-up for use in a blow-thru scenario, but a reputable carb shop can convert it. I'm not sure what you mean by "compatible with the efi conversion super sniper kit "?? Thx J

Found my number but according to every carb site that uses the list number search system my old holley carburetor doesn't exist. P.S. the number as your video instructed me to find is 4027-S if you can advise me on what i have i would be grateful.

It´s not how to identtify.. It´s how to find the listing number.. but how to identify without the books...

Listing numbers is the only way to identify our carbs without extensive teardown and knowledge of the specs for each model. It's a very easy way to identify carbs and the listing numbers can be found in numerous reference books, on the internet, and by calling or Tech line. Thx J
