Do you have a ball park range on the frame work painting and hydraulics installation cost ball park range
@LOWRIDERHYDRAULICS2 жыл бұрын
That can range pretty drastic. Cheapest you’ll spend with current prices of everything, I’d say no less that $5k. But that can go up to as much as $20k roughly. Just depends on how far you want to take it.

Great video 👍 I have a 64 impala can you reinforce stock upper arms and do you have to have them extended? If would like my tires to be straight up and down. Really do not like the bull dog look. Will a 1in extended upper arm work? Thank you
@LOWRIDERHYDRAULICS2 жыл бұрын
You can reinforce stock arms and you should extend 1 inch at least to keep wheel straight like you want.
@jorgeaguirre6978 Жыл бұрын
So if I'm just doing a lay and play (fbss) , will I be okay without extending control arms? (New to hydraulics here)
@LOWRIDERHYDRAULICS Жыл бұрын
You can but you will likely have negative camber when lifted all the way up. Extending at least an inch is recommended. Also, arms that are not reinforced will tear over time.

Whats the best way to offset the hole saw to make the cylinders install as upright as possible?
@LOWRIDERHYDRAULICS5 жыл бұрын
Depends on the car, some cars you can use the old shock mount hole as a guide but on others like an impala X frame you need to go slightly out from that hole to start your guide hole. Trial and error basically and experience is the best way to learn where to put the hole. One option is to remove all the old springs and shocks, put in the new springs and cups in the spring perch and see where the cup lines up and mark the hole from the inside. You can also weld the donut from the underside of the from inside the perch to help line it up.

@LOWRIDERHYDRAULICS5 жыл бұрын
Lou Morales if the motor is spinning and not clicking then you have eliminated the possibility of it being anything else other than the pump head. I’m assuming you didn’t mess with any of the plumbing and it was working fine before. So you are left with one of a few problems. 1. Most obvious is not enough fluid, make sure it’s topped off. 2. When installing the pump head, did you tighten the bolts down too tight? If so it will not allow the pump head to spin freely. 3. The pump head seal you put in is bad. In my mind it has to be something with the pump head, my advice would be to remove the pump head and check everything thoroughly all the way down to the new seal and see where the issue is.

I got some precuts im about to throw in bro but they seem to be too wide to seat at bottom a arm... what should i do???
@LOWRIDERHYDRAULICS6 жыл бұрын
Francisco Malfonado that is pretty normal, you have to think that those springs were not the factory ones and we’re not designed to just be replace and go. Even if it doesn’t fit in there perfect, it will be ok most likely with precut springs of 2 3/4 ton or smaller. When you get into the 3 /14 ton springs you may start to consider making some adjustments to the lower to make the spring pocket bigger. Normally 2 ton precut springs that come with the kits don’t require you to make changes to the spring pocket, they don’t sit in there exactly right but if put it all together and let the weight of the car push them into place, they will also do some settling which will bend the surrounding metal to better fit the springs over a little time. Whatever you do, don’t cut those new springs, they will lower about an inch or more over the first month or so once they settle. If you notice that the spring keep popping out of the pocket, you can weld a small tab on the lower arm next to the spring to keep it from popping out, that’s worst case. Hope this helps

Awesome video and very informative! I had a question about the cylinder and hole to be cut for it to go thru. Im new to the lowrider community and I'm still in the process of building my 64. What I've done was drilled using the shock hole as a pilot, then cut a old spring in half welded it together then to the a arm shaft and cut the center of the shaft out. After watching ur videos I'm afraid now that the cylinder will hit my engine now. I can get new shafts if I need and weld in the hole I've cut and re cut it, but I wanted a professionals opinion weather if my method will b ok or not? I want to say I seen it in a magazine somewhere but it's been so long when I did them I honestly couldn't tell u where I got the idea from.
@LOWRIDERHYDRAULICS6 жыл бұрын
Rollin Lolos Id be glad to help you bro, contact me on Facebook at “Lowrider Hydraulic Tips”. I manage that page. I need a little more clarification on what exactly you did. You are not suppose to use the old shock mount hole as a pilot, it needs to be further out to keep the cylinders straighter, otherwise they will point inward and you have the cylinder and cup slip out of the spring on a regular bases. There are some easy fixes if you have already done it.

Hey this is your boy Eric from Cali again with another question. I went to hoppos Hydraulics the other day and I bought one of your hydraulic kits with just front and back. As you know I have a 93 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. The guy asked me how many batteries I was going to run and I told him 4 and told me it was no need to reinforce the rear and which is cool with me. The kit comes with the two pump setup and that's it. I asked him can I still use my power balls and he said no because power balls are only for cylinders that are over 10 in. My question is will it hurt for me to continue to use the power balls for my rear end because I really don't see a problem using them on cylinders that are only 10 inches. Your boy Eric from Cali. Peace!
@LOWRIDERHYDRAULICS6 жыл бұрын
eric davis not sure why they would say you can’t use powerballs, I use powerballs on the rear of everything no matter the size. 4 batts and no reinforcement is probably ok because it’s not enough to cause any major damage. Over a few years you might notice something but you should be ok.

Such hydraulics are a funny hobby but i doubt it that it will pass the yearly car checkup here in Belgium. Also, i doubt it that the install of such hydraulics keeps the car usable for daily driving, with the camber messed up, and the risk of flipping the switch by accident on the highway at 100km/h. I suppose that has a good chance of ending up deadly.
